I used to back Martinez to the hilt, but there is no way on this earth that if we won the fa cup he should be still in charge at the start of the season. He's already said he will keep playing the same way, even though it didn't work last season, and hasn't worked this season, so why all of a sudden is it going to click next season.

I really can't see a way back for Martinez after last night, maybe if Bill was still running the show it would be different but there's no way Mozzer is going to tolerate the performances and the way Martinez continually mugs us all off.

Even if we will the cup he will still be gone, the only worry I now have is that Moyes is 4/1 favourite, from brown shoes back to beige cardigan, no ta!

I'm fully expecting us to get knocked out in the next round. Nevertheless, if we won both games it would be our first trophy in 21 years and he will be one of only a handful of Everton mangers to achieve it. We would have to give him at least until autumn.

Everyone is rightly fuming right now, but imagine the euphoria if we actually won the thing.

I'm not sure why. Winning the cup is an achievement, but he's either the right man for the job, or he isn't - and he isn't.

Cup or no cup, he's not good enough.

It would be nice for him to go out on a bit of a high, but that's the extent of it - it shouldn't buy him any more time.

The problem is though, Martinez has lost the dressing room, and has lost most of the fans (in regards to some fans, I would actually say they hate him)and I can't see winning the fa cup changing that.

We really can't afford to do that. I will cheer along with the rest if we win, but a new manager is required.

I just don't see it that way at all.

Of course it would be fantastic if we won the cup. Believe me, nobody will be celebrating more than me come 7pm saturday if we've made it to the final - but what will it change? We know he can win FA cups, he's shown that before. We also know he can't get consistent performances out of his teams, he's shown that too. The semi and final could theoretically go down to pens. Are we really saying that we should sack a manager if we lose a shoot out and keep him if we win it? That's madness.

Either he's good enough to take us forward or he's not. All the evidence is that he's not, so what difference would winning 2 games make? Winning the trophy would be the perfect opportunity for him to go with some dignity, and any club with ambition would get rid at that point. Just ask Kenny Dalglish, Di Matteo, or Pellegrini whether big clubs care for sentimentality.

As it's been said, he's lost the changing room, so barring a miracle we'll get knocked out anyway, so all this theorising is a bit pointless. But, if he wins the cup that may show that he's got the players back on side. At the very least.

I'm not backing Martinez to the hilt here, and, ideally, last night should have been his last chance, but winning the cup is a massive thing, huge for us.

Winning the cup flowers up his cv a little thats all, move him on asap with fond memories of our first season

If we were to win the Cup and part on amicable terms, Bobby's three years at Everton will look pretty decent on his C.V.

First season achieved that club's highest points total in the EPL era.

Second season comfortably won their group and progressed in the knockout stages of the EL.

Third season won the F.A. Cup.

On the face of it, not too shabby at all :)

He'll be the perfect fit for Newcastle :)
