And Maduro with the bird on his hat..... The place has so much oil it cost peanuts to fill up a tank of petrol, but the Bolivarian socialists haven't a clue how to run an economy.....I've no doubt that he and his many henchmen will do OK though......

But they ran it better than their predecessors

...as are the constant references on this forum to the being wealthy is somehow unlawful or immoral. You can't have your cake and eat it too Stevon.

But...for those who want to really understand wealth disparity:

http://paulgraham.com/gap.html

I've never stated that being wealthy is in any way a bad, immoral, or unlawful thing mate, far from it

What i will with 100% certainty say is that much of the wealth accrued by individuals and companies can fall into one of those three categories in a host of cases.

Just from reading your responses in this thread then i can draw a fair conclusion that you support the principles of Reganomics which we experienced in the UK with Thatchers own brand often called the trickle down economy. If I'm right about that then it explains a lot of your ides on wealth and disparity between rich and poor.

Her bold statement contrasted with the station's usual coverage of the Ukrainian crisis, which broadly reflects Moscow’s position.

In its reports it has described new Ukranian prime minister Arseny Yatseniuk as "self-imposed" and is sympathetic to the Russian-backed ousted president Viktor Yanukovych.

Miss Martin, who has previously labelled the US government's version of 9/11 as "propaganda", criticised the coverage of the escalating crisis from all sides of the media spectrum as "disappointing.. and rife with misinformation".

But even a dummy like Martin understands that the Crimean invasion is wrong.

So here's the epilogue. Here's what Russia Today says about her off-message messaging:

"We respect her views, and the views of all our journalists, presenters and program hosts, and there will be absolutely no reprimands made against Ms. Martin. "In her comment Ms. Martin also noted that she does not possess a deep knowledge of reality of the situation in Crimea. As such we’ll be sending her to Crimea to give her an opportunity to make up her own mind from the epicentre of the story."
Miss Martin however told the Telegraph: "I am not going to Crimea despite the statement RT has made."

Your grasping at straws now mate, a bold statement by her? really? in fact its typical of the ill informed and idiotic things she has a reputation for saying, such as her opinions which you quote on 9/11 and the US version being nothing but propaganda, talk about only seeing things you wish to see, this is a clear example of that, your sat their believing every word of someone you described as a dummy says over a matter she herself in her statement said she didn't understand and had no knowledge about?

Yatseniuk was not elected as president, therefore he was not chosen by the people, appointing a leader isn't exactly democratic now is it?

Finally the reporter shows her utter lack of any credibility when given the chance to actually go to the region and get a understanding of the situation she had admitted she was speaking about with no knowledge, this she refused, thus showing she is happy to sit their with her 15 minutes of fame being lauded over my the American media no doubt for being some form of journalistic peer of excellence and honesty. Fact is the woman is a loud mouthed clown who isn't fit to call herself a journalist, no journalist worth their salt would make a statement on a situation they had no understanding off.

She basically to all intents and purposes said 'WAR IS BAD' on air like some high-school girl on a peace march

Oh and here ya go, heres who you think speaks the truth about the Ukraine from her 2008 video whilst on a 'truth march' about 9/11, enjoy

P.S. she's also American which makes the entire situation about ignorance all the more amusing, 'ill informed American reporter criticizes Russia'

Bit political-speechy but I couldn't help myself. I've been really shocked with what Russian have done/are doing. It's unacceptable.
Russia have just shown the world how dangerous they really are. If ever there was a doubt over the importance of the European Union, I should think it dispelled now. If Ukraine was an EU member state this never would have happened and personally I think the riots are starting to make much more sense in light of these events. They were a backlash to the President's pro-Russian stance, that we know. But the aggression, the ferocity of those protests - over 70 people died by the time the government was ousted - is now so easy to understand: for the people of West Ukraine this was a fight for their very future. In the East there might be great tracts of support for the Kremlin but not so in the West. I genuinely think they foresaw Russian incursion as we're witnessing now unless they strengthened ties to Europe. The announcement of the President's aim of a period establishing and consolidating closer ties to Russia was the death knell for those with their fingers on the pulse. Once Russia makes sufficient inroads politically and economically, then actual inroads were the inevitable outcome. I think the rest of us have been naive, or perhaps ignorant, but certainly unprepared for the audacity with which Russia has shown flagrant disregard for international relations, particularly to a European nation so close to our own doorstep.

If we don't hold our nerve and our ground and have Putin turn tail with his 'local self-defence forces' (hilarious) and retreat back beyond the Crimea unconditionally then we have not only failed the independent state of Ukraine and the safety and security of millions of ethnic Ukranians - the vast majority of the population - but we have failed international relations, we have failed peaceful diplomacy and we have failed the notions we collectively vowed to empower and maintain in the aftermath of WW2 to ensure such terrible conflict was never to threaten the continent of Europe again. Well, I'm afraid, that's exactly what is being threatened. Who knows how emboldened not just Russia but the like of China might be if the seizure of another nation's sovereign land on the EU's very doorstep was to happen unopposed.

We are at a crucial juncture in the short to medium term future of Europe. We must not fail to meet the demands of this crisis even slightly. The fate of many rests upon it.

Yesterday an RT presenter criticised the invasion and today another resigns live on air:

yup because RT isn't known by everyone in the world of Journalism for portraying Putin in the best possible light, She was either the only Journalist in the world who didn't realize that it was or else she is just trying to get her 15 minutes of fame having seen the reaction to the woman the other days outburst on air, nothing courageous at all about her actions as with her increased profile she will be working for one of the larger American news outlets soon enough given the publicity she will get.

Sorry but the God Bless America crap she come out with is hypocritical given Americas direct interferences in numerous countries throughout the past 60 years, but oh well it looked and sounded good for the American audiences

Pot calling the kettle black mate, unless you really don't have any idea about just how many different countries the UK and USA have interfered in over the past 69 years like. Just as a side note though you do realise the only people actually killed so far in the Ukraine have been Ukranians killed by other Ukranians mate?

The capitalist pig dog wench wants whipping at dawn tomorrow for that.

Horrid loyalty. No man is going to wed her for that.

She'll end up lonely in an unloved part of the planet being eaten by cats.
