How? Do you discount the US funding for the opposition in Syria, or the encouragement, similar to other mid east countries? This has got America all over it, ill judged, mis timed and backfiring, probably with the collusion of the EU finance houses too.

And it's a good solution to be fair. Russia was never going to give up it's base in Sevastopol or allow the surrounding area to be aligned with the EU and NATO. As long as they don't attempt the same trick on the eastern parts of the Ukraine, which would provoke armed conflict, it will all work out to everyones satisfaction......

My wifes russian mate, and she is sure of one thing, that it wont become part of russia and the Crimea will become an independant state - obviously with very strong ties with russia including the use of naval bases etc, according to her thats what all the maneovering on Russias part is about and what the russian peoples wish is as well - theirs been little talk of making it a part of russia in the media over their apparently, analyzing it, will be the best result for the actual citizens out of all outcomes
