Your post is backwards.

No chance the donkey is holding a gun. None. :p

It was at this point I stopped reading.

"...an overhasty willingness to put the blame for all its troubles on Vladimir Putin..."

And the word "ignorance" was mentioned?

So who should be blamed for Russia sending armed troops into Ukraine? Ukraine? The West? Israel? (that's always a good one). Is someone really trying to justify Russia's actions here? Because I seem to be reading some of that here too.

So, back to that word "ignorance....."

A shame you stopped reading at that point then mate, if you had continue reading you would have realised that the post you dismissed out of hand in a condescending way was actually a word for word article printed by a very informed and respected expert on russia

What was that part about ignorance again?...

If I had a nickel for everytime I read this on GOT, I'd have enough to buy Everton five times over.

So to summarize on GOT:

Wealthy = Evil

Not wealthy = Good

Got it.

Highlighting one line of a post to draw a conclusion like you post is pretty insulting tex, i will stand by the fact that the main goal of the super wealthy is to maintain their position, wealth, influence and power at all costs, the average joe is at best an afterthought in comparision to that goal

An "expert?"

Bum Phillips said that an "expert was just an ordinary fella away from home."

But I digress.

Maybe I should learn to dismiss articles written by those who try to find fault from any place other than the actual source in a manner that less condescending and more derisory in tone. Unless I've completely read that comment wrong. Make no mistake. This is all on Putin. But since I'm from the West, I must "misunderstand" the situation here. Trust me, the ignorance about Vladimir Putin doesn't lie here.

If you believe it does, you're just not looking hard enough or don't care to look hard enough.

...as are the constant references on this forum to the being wealthy is somehow unlawful or immoral. You can't have your cake and eat it too Stevon.

But...for those who want to really understand wealth disparity:

Russia Today Reporter: The Invasion of the Crimea Is Wrong
Russia: Okay We're Sending You to the Crimea

—Ace
I don't know if this story would be a story at all without the epilogue. A Russia Today reporter (well, "presenter") strongly criticized Russia's "uncontested arrival" into the Crimea.

This isn't such a huge deal because Russia Today is the English-language propaganda arm of Russia. It's not primarily for broadcast into Russia, but intended as an arm of pro-Russia indoctrination for areas of the English-speaking world that don't receive the New York Times.

A bit of background on the station, and the reporter:

The English-language Russia Today is widely perceived as the voice of the Kremlin, with Reporters Without Borders describing it as a "step of the state to control information."

It is often anti-American in its coverage and has been accused of ignoring a number of human rights abuses in the country, as well as controversial issues such as the prison sentences given to punk ban[d] [Poor language removed] Riot.

Her bold statement contrasted with the station's usual coverage of the Ukrainian crisis, which broadly reflects Moscow’s position.

In its reports it has described new Ukranian prime minister Arseny Yatseniuk as "self-imposed" and is sympathetic to the Russian-backed ousted president Viktor Yanukovych.

Miss Martin, who has previously labelled the US government's version of 9/11 as "propaganda", criticised the coverage of the escalating crisis from all sides of the media spectrum as "disappointing.. and rife with misinformation".

But even a dummy like Martin understands that the Crimean invasion is wrong.

So here's the epilogue. Here's what Russia Today says about her off-message messaging:

"We respect her views, and the views of all our journalists, presenters and program hosts, and there will be absolutely no reprimands made against Ms. Martin. "In her comment Ms. Martin also noted that she does not possess a deep knowledge of reality of the situation in Crimea. As such we’ll be sending her to Crimea to give her an opportunity to make up her own mind from the epicentre of the story."
Miss Martin however told the Telegraph: "I am not going to Crimea despite the statement RT has made."

By the way, Time Magazine just reported that "not only would Russia never invade Crimea, it would also never send a reporter to a warzone just for criticizing Russia."

And then they won a Peabody.

I think everyone needs to think about it in real terms.

For Ukraine, read Wales. Unfortunately there is a huge divide in Wales, north and south as opposed to east and west Ukraine. The loons in Cardiff have took over like bad fascists.

Liverpool is Russia and were a bit chocka about right Welsh Nazis exporting their crap trabs and interbreeding ways to our ace, socially advanced way of living. We don't want our kids growing up asking for ice l ollies like some bad wools.

The Wirral is Crimea. Liverpool gave the Wirral over to Wales when it shed it of its L postcode but there's still loads of scousers living over there (for the easier women) and now Liverpool doesn't want to be staring over the river at Rhys and Dafydd and their bad adidas four stripe and love of Skol. The plazzies might moan about us but they defo don't want to be full Welsh so there's huge sympathy for the scouse way of life.

So we got to protect our ways. Hope this helps.

You have been very busy. Through all your posts you have achieved a level of bias while condemning bias, the likes of which I haven't seen since last weeks match of the day.
The summary above is naive and is as propagandist as the arenas you condemn. The reality of the situation, sifting through all media reports, comes down to economic and strategic playacting by the Russians, the EU & the US.
It was the US who wanted parts of Europe carved up after WW2, strategically, as part of an advancement of its political ideology, the USSR obliged willingly, and the economic 'cold war' began, this is a 21c update, now that both their economic models are up sh1t creek.
Avoid left v right, and you see why there is a lack of empathy towards corporatist America and its goals, bearing in mind that under it's guidance and 'moral direction' it has lead the world, bynits own admission, to this point in history, few have benefitted, many, many have suffered. Most people have had enough.

As a semi-related point, Bill, you're from the oil state in America. Why don't the US government lift the ban on exporting crude oil? You're the biggest oil producer in the world, and we have a situation where much of Europe is reliant upon a dubious regime for energy. That would seem a positive step for the bastions of free trade to make.

We'll just join ranks with the mancs and destroy you leaving Fila shaped foot marks in the dust.

Great preview mate. 2-0 Eberton.

I've got one question?

Are you being serious?

You think Putin cares one bit about democracy or the people of Ukraine?

I think he pinned you right on. Deluded.
What any person wanting to form a rational viewpoint does is to take in as much as possible from both sides

Have the British
Can you blame him? We have a president who doesn't understand even the basics of foreign policy. Obama has shown himself to be weak and inexperienced in this arena and worse, it appears that he's surrounded himself with others who are weak an inexperienced in these matters.

As I've always said, the happiest man on earth right now is Jimmy Carter.

Ha Ha Ha.

I'd have to say that what you've posted above is breathtakingly ignorant, willful or otherwise.

What you meant to say is that "those who don't agree with my opinion are ill-informed on this issue."

You couldn't be more wrong.

Left-wing outlets are doing a better job presenting the whole picture. I'm not quite sure how that's ignorant. I've looked at reputable news outlets from both sides of the political divide so I'm not politically biased, even in this thread I've used the opinion of an extremely conservative US senator because I agree with it.

Now get off your box.
