I know it does sound like you're on an anti-Koeman for no reason bash, but we do lack depth at RB. Coleman doesn't have a bad injury record, and you have to legislate for these kind of horrific things. If Rom gets broken too, I'm joining a monastery and avoiding footy the rest of my days.
Shame Holgate crosses like an angry child taking it out on a football.
Both FB positions at Everton have traditionally been treated like they aren't specialist areas...that if we have either Baines or Coleman down we just shuffle over one of the CBs who isn't getting a game. Only when we had Oviedo vying for a place with Baines have we had reasonable cover for either position.

We act like a bottom of the table outfit - make do and mend.

Koeman can't cover for every position in 6 months. We will have to use one of the young lads. Hopefully mirrallas can play on the right and cross the ball in

In the past year we've had four youngsters, Pennington, Kenny, Connolly and Holgate feature at right back plus Browning. Holgate and Kenny played right back for England U21 and u 20 respectively this week, Connolly has been playing well in the Championship at RB, Browning too before his injury I believe. Three of these are currently fit and well at the club, so we are hardly short of options . Left back is more of a potential issue if Baines gets injured. I'd go for Holgate but would also be happy with Kenny.

Kenny should have been blooded before now. Apart from an adapted CB in Holgate, he's left us exposed here at RB.

We'll certainly need to look at buying in a quality right back in the summer, potentially big money spent on a position that we weren't having to worry about. Unless, whoever steps up is a revelation in the next 9 games.

Pretty much most of the teams above us in the league are in similar positions.

Chelsea are playing a converted winger at fullback, whose their backups Dave?
the rs, Playing a converted midfielder their in Milner, and have a kid from the academy with 1 premier league game in his career as Clynes backup
Arsenal - have two equally crap left backs and no decent back up to bellerin at rb
United - Valencia - another converted winger at right back - no back up for him though, and a mix of blind/rojo etc playing left back
City don't even have 2 decent fullbacks - never mind quality backup in the position
Only spurs have really good depth at fullback

We don't have great depth at fullback dave - not arguing we do, but trying to make out that we are the only team in that boat is wrong

...if I remember rightly, United have played Ashley Young there, the Reds play Milner at LB.

Oh I'm not knocking Koeman. It's an intensive position- attack, defend, lots of sprinting and tackling. Top teams have rotational options. Baines and Coleman are great but options behind them are limited.

Didn't Koeman try to sign Martina as cover?
Christ Ronnie lad, she's cracking on a bit now, didn't know she'd played at right back before,on the plus side a proven winner and we haven't enough of them;)lol
