Id go for Malky Even if ha does have a silly name.....He has that young Moyse thing about him

That's what puts me off to be honest. Call me crazy but I don't want another 10+ years of largely dull football and jibbing every big match. I don't believe we'll get relegated any time soon so I'm willing to roll the dice with either an exciting foreign appointment or a British/Irish manager with real passion that might just inspire the club to maximise its talents.

I dunno mate i fear that all of us may rue him going over the NEXT decade

pukes at the notion.

the Toffeeweb vote has 50% in favour of 3 names Laudrup, Martinez and Pereira, the "Moyes-types" are non runners.

The mesage is clear - NO MORE BENDING OVER!

if you forget history it means Reading, Wigan and Swansea are bigger clubs than Wolves, Sheffield United and Leeds which is bollocks.

It's an interesting debate. Thing is, if we include our history, of course we're all gonna say we're a Big Club. It'll be a 100% vote. That's not a debate, and it's not worth a thread.

But if we take out history, and focus on how others see us, then we've got a debate. This focus is important right now, as we're looking to attract management, players and investment. We know that they don't care about history as much as we do....hence, we're defining Big Club in how they would define a Big Club.

We're 6th in the league, we've been in the CL in the last decade, we've not been relegated since the 50s. From the outside, how is that not a big club?

From another perspective, we aren't able to offer any of this:

top-end turnover
massive wage bill
regular transfer funds
regular sold-out attendances
big worldwide fanbase
contemporary trophy haul
contemporary title challenges
regular European football
attracting biggest names in the game
not a sellers' club
not a club that takes on bigger club's rejects
able to find a buyer if the club is put on sale

How is that a big club?

From our perspective, we're a big club. From the perspective of high-end managers, players and investors, we're not a big club.

Hence, cheese on toast.

Vote count:

Over one-third of blues (46 from 130 voters in this case) aren't ready to say we're a big club.

I bet all of those 46 blues would say we're a big club historically, but thankfully they've understood what this thread's actually about.

I can just about agree that in terms of european football we're relatively small, but we're giants of the english game.

I've lived away from liverpool for a few years and opposition fans certainly think of us as a big club.
