We're Everton ffs. Big or small doesn't come into it, we're the best team in the world. Some fans aye.

We are doomed to mediocrity if we appoint Martinez, that's for sure

I think this poll is based on mis-interpreting Whelans comments, therefore I'm out.
What he alluded to is that Martinez is good enough to get one of the biggest jobs in football - Barca, Madrid, Man Utd etc (which I think is very very dellusional), so why would he go to a smaller club such as Everton.

So if the poll is "Are Everton as big a club as Barcelona or Real Madrid", then I would vote no.

Well, if I'm being honest, I'd say we're in between at this juncture.

Strong finishes every year to be considered big time and a fantastic history.

No money to compete with the moneybags clubs and a long barren spell without a trophy would be considered small time.

I'd say that we're in between the two and leaning more to big time only because of our history.

Our bank balance is small time, our chairman is too. The fans and history sure ain't though.

We are no longer a big club on a European scale but I don't think it makes us small time.

Ridiculous thread and poll which has no doubt been set up to provide amusement to RAWK.......bin it....

This is one of many EFC forums. One thread in a week has received over 9,000 posts and well over 250,000 views. That is not small time. In short Everton have very large fanbase which fills up its very small stadium every game.
The club has the finest training facilities in the world and an excellent business line in youth player development, but lacks a top quality large stadium to maximize revenues in the stadia business stream.
Arsenal and Man U, unlike City and Chelski, do not have Sugar Daddies. They have to use quality business management to keep at the top and not be lazy relying on Sugar Daddies buying top players. They have to be sharp, and are. A significant level of Man U's and Arsenal's revenues come from their top quality stadia. They have to maximize all revenue streams out of necessity and that includes the business line of youth promotion of players - selling on players for profit and using home produced players that may eventually be valued in the tens of millions, all counts.
The two clubs have far superior business admin with foresight. While Everton and Liverpool languish in poor revenue generating stadia with matching performance. Yes, Everton are a sleeping giant, the top quality stadium with excellent mass-transit rail access will push the club back to the top 4.

Everton football club is not, never has been and never will be small time but the people who run and control efc are small time and will try to drag us down to their level if they can. Don't let them, Billy Lair out!

Its money look at malaga and PSG hardly big clubs before they were taken over and now look.

We have no/limited money to spend no top managers will be willing to take on that
If we had a billionaire owner we would become one of the biggest clubs in the world over night

No. We are not small time, never have been and never will be. We've got more seasons on the top flight than anyone, are the 4th most successful club and were league founders.

I think Dave Whelan's comments were an attempt to deflect attention being shown towards his manager rather than intended to be disparaging.

Moyes seems to think we are:

Moyes added of Everton:* “They’ll never be as good as they were in the 80s when they won things. But you look at top-10 finishes in the Premier League era, it has improved.”

What the Hell is that?! Then why have you been backing a chairman who is a buffoon for absolute years?

Trying to big himself up.
