Ray Wilson was an Everton and England football legend. He and Jimmy Armfield changed the way British full backs played, to something closer to the approach of Brazilian players. Such a brilliant player. R. I. P.

Class oozed from this football legend. I had the delightful opportunity to watch him play the game beautifully. Nothing fazed him, even the German goal in the world cup, he just dusted himself down and got on with it, as he did in some games for us. One of the greatest left back's to play the game.

That is really sad news. Even after all the good news we've had today this has put a damper on it. A wonderful full back who would still stand out in today's league.

RIP Ray Wilson, the first of the modern attacking,overlapping full back.

Although his illness was difficult for his family they took comfort from the fact he was very happy in his own little world.

Another World cup winner gone, great achievement in the same year as he won the FA cup with Everton.

It's good that his passing has not gone unnoticed in what has been a busy day for the club.
