Current Affairs Rail strikes

Knew a lad who killed himself in front of a train. One of the things I thought of was what the driver and staff must have seen. Some jobs aren’t worth it.
It's not nice mate .
I had Been fortunate to only really see the aftermath normally a train is covering the body.
Last year I walked into the situation and had to clear the passengers from the area.
Not going into details obviously mate but it's not like you imagine it to be.
I wouldn't advise anyone to join the industry anymore unless it's a driver, signalman, engineer, or in the office out the way.
It's not worth the bother on balance.
If I had my time again I would never have joined it.

You got access to a car? Or rather, if you need a car, let me know.

Cheers mate that's really kind but we don't drive unfortunately so it wouldn't end well ha.

I'm a big believer in public transport and the rail system and I don't blame the workers for the state of our national rail networks at all but I just don't see how this will benefit their battle in the view of the public.

I like to consider myself a reasonable fellow but selfish as many a human. If you ruin my holiday I hope you don't get your demands. I expect that to be a fairly commonly held opinion.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles, the Country has ground to a standstill thanks to the Tories, maybe just stay home and save money, maybe not with our ever increasing energy Bill's, oh well cheers Boris and here's me thinking the Conservatives were the ones to trust for the economy, or so they are always telling us.

Seems to be objections to what seems like reasonable industrial action on here, because it affects others ability to conduct their own lives. As I remember it, back in the day, that was the whole point

Suppose you won't mind if you go into hospital and there's nobody to take care of you then.

Be more worried about freight there is enough trouble with Brexit border problems let alone now moving stuff about once in the country.

Well, I get your point, but I don't think the one instance is worthy of the generalisation you appear to be gagging for here mate.

I reckon if the train companies said "we're not providing any services unless the government pay us more in subsidy" people would say that's rubbish behaviour. Rent seeking is rent seeking.

That's exactly what they have been doing for years .
One lot Jack's it in once the gravy train stops.
Many have been taken in house or given back to the government at that stage
Then another pops up and says we will give it a go but we need more subsidy,
Then around we go again.
Give this lot there due they have seen through it a bit and tried to get it under one banner.
Even Thatcher thought it was a bad idea from the start and so it proves.
Seems you only take umbrage when a worker wants a bit more but not when a multi national wants its.

Haha what about me old fella! I can’t go on holiday or to a festival because of the nasty strikers, boohoo

You seem to thing there's something wrong with expecting the goods and services that were paid for and for expecting people to do their jobs.

You do you though Comrade.
