I did. Your gushing in the queens funeral thread undermined any of your point about the plebs wanting more, or even just not accepting less, regardless of what you deem 'enough'

Also, i dont think your post says what you think, or want us to believe it says.
'Utterly disgraceful behaviour from a small group of very well-paid individuals - most normal working class folk would be ecstatic to be on £55k per year, with the ability to grab another £15k to £20k via overtime.'

I think you should read it again.
So the answer is yes, you will ignore it again. Good stuff.

As others have already pointed out, there are reports of the drivers' union planning strike action on October 1st and 5th.

Utterly disgraceful behaviour from a small group of very well-paid individuals - most normal working class folk would be ecstatic to be on £55k per year, with the ability to grab another £15k to £20k via overtime. There's a reason that hundreds of people apply for train driver vacancies on the rare occasions they're announced.

The perversity is that they could strike in support of their colleagues in the poorly-paid roles and we'd nod in approval of their efforts; but they're striking for themselves, to snatch even more money from the same pot when their colleagues are struggling to make ends meet. It's appalling. I imagine most rail staff must hate the drivers.

Problem is certain areas of the private sector have distorted the wage market over the years and everyone now wants a piece of the cake.

Lad I know works in sales and rakes in 60-70k a year for a job in his words aint that difficult, has WFH etc. When you consider thats nearly double of what the average teacher and nurse earns this then causes imbalance in the market particularly at times like this.

Ive read it through about ten times now and i can't for the life of me find the point you seem to think you were making. There's an attack on train drivers wages in the first paragraph and a suggestion that they should strike in support of non driver staff in the second. Nowhere do you suggest its just the wrong time for them to strike for themselves.

You've read it ten times, but missed the final paragraph each time. What amazingly bad luck.

Interesting - how do you account for @edge 's response to the same question?
I am guessing Edge works for a different TOC than me. I am going on my experience and that of my colleagues here at the moment and the Drivers have been steadfast in their support of the guards in their dispute.
