Always wondered about the John Barnes shouts when it comes to racism.

If someone who has suffered racist abuse in the past is dismissed when he comments on racism then who is then deciding that it is in fact racist?

Is it....white people telling a black man he is wrong on racism?

The behaviour of the Bulgarian crowd and any like them should be met with zero tolerance. It is they who should be launched from the game and no one should ever have to put up with any of that crap

Ian Wright has just nailed it - his generation did it with gritted teeth because nothing would be done. He's delighted it is stood up to and action, of sorts, is taken.

I think it’s often curious seeing people use Barnes to support their views about racism whilst ignoring the many more views from black players saying something entirely different

Bernardo was foolish to put out that pic on Twitter, but it was a joke between two best mates(since playing together for Monaco) who are always laughing and joking in private and in training. Mendy is not offended by it at all. Why others are offended about a joke (that should have been kept private) I really don't know. I think it's time people judged Bernardo on his footballing skills rather than judge him to be a racist.

And as for him getting a ban. Oh that's right, let's all feel offended and make sure the media whip up this storm in a teacup and ban him, and make sure he's banned for the upcoming Liverpool game!

The FA and media RS darlings want to see the title go to Merseyside and are desperate for it to happen, so desperate Bernardo has been castigated as a racist and must be banned to help LFCs cause.

I think that you need to replace Merseyside with Anfield in the penultimate paragraph of your post. Merseyside includes Goodison and I really don’t think that the above want the title going to Everton.

Think the players still deserve a chance, albeit handicapped, to play footy despite their fans being idiots
