Racism in football

John Barnes says it’s not racist so it can’t be racist.

If you disagree, you’re racist.

Genuine question, do you also consider john Barnes an ignorant tool?
Considering he's also black and had to deal with horrendous racism during his playing days and to a lesser degree afterwards

I think John Barnes is wrong but I’ll listen to what he says. I think guardiola is a tool.
Will you only listen to black people you agree with on this?

John Barnes is a full Uncle Tom. I think Samuel L Jackson shadowed him for a couple of months to perfect his Django character.

Sold out his race to defend Suarez and keep suckling at the Kopites teats.

See today's actions from kick it out , shows why it's so hard for racism to be dealt with properly.
Anything which can be taken in a racist manner (predominantly when it involves non-white people) is automatically siezed upon and vilified without taking it into context....

Silva and Mendy both knew it was a joke between friends, no offence intended and none taken,
Kick it out condemn it as racist and poor role model behaviour etc...
If Silva had tweeted any of the white players with the same type of joke would it be such a big deal?

It's like black people referring to each other with the n word , 9/10 it's not racist, but if one person who isn't white used it....(rush hour did a good parody of this iirc)

The sooner actual racism is treated with the seriousness it deserves the better in my opinion,
Clear, targeted racism met with clear, serious sanctions (bans, stadium bans, competition expulsion, fines that actually make a difference and are donated to charities not UEFA or FIFA)
However we need to stop being so PC about everything and use our brains to realise just because someone , somewhere can be offended, you have to explore the context

As soon as Silva decided to publish it on a public forum, he was open to and should be punished. If he thought it was that hilarious, he could have at least kept it private.

Is he a racist? Probably not. Uninformed, thick and out of touch? Most definitely. If when posting that, he didn’t think it would cause any offence, then he should be banned from using it, at least by his club who he represents.

Bernardo was foolish to put out that pic on Twitter, but it was a joke between two best mates(since playing together for Monaco) who are always laughing and joking in private and in training. Mendy is not offended by it at all. Why others are offended about a joke (that should have been kept private) I really don't know. I think it's time people judged Bernardo on his footballing skills rather than judge him to be a racist.

And as for him getting a ban. Oh that's right, let's all feel offended and make sure the media whip up this storm in a teacup and ban him, and make sure he's banned for the upcoming Liverpool game!

The FA and media RS darlings want to see the title go to Merseyside and are desperate for it to happen, so desperate Bernardo has been castigated as a racist and must be banned to help LFCs cause.

I say off with his head whilst they're at it:coffee:

I think I'd let Mendy, as the person it was directed at, decide if he's offended or not. Not sure why the world thinks he needs a mob to do it for him.

Surely if you want to go after somebody in all of this, it should be your Spanish sweety manufacturer.
