Racism in football

IMO, this is a bit harsh, and what is required is something between the status quo (not talking about it) and relegating teams because their ultras are abusive. My aim is to make sure it's properly discussed, if that has any merit.
It is harsh. But that's the point. All these campaigns and second chances have had no effect. Teams can decide who they let into the ground.

This is a hot issue in MLS currently with teams seemingly not wanting to upset fascist supporter groups and instead banning posters with "political" messages. We don't have to be nice to racists.

I get it about racism im football theres no place for it. But I'm more sick and tired of football in Racism. Any racist rallies I ever attend there's tossers playing with a football. Or when I'm on my various racist websites there's always pop-up adds for the premier league and sky etc. Does me head in.

Keep football out of Racism.

Well yes, they can decide who they let in, but they can't really vet someone's views can they? Like I could buy a ticket for pretty much any Premier League ground over the next couple of weeks and the club concerned would have absolutely no way of knowing what I intended to do when I got there. So while there's an obvious issue with mass demonstrations of racism, like in Cagliari, it's much harder to police the odd idiot shouting or gesturing at the game.

The only way to truely hit them where it hurts is financially, and make the fans suffer. Here is what i suggested in another thread

FIFA, globally should come down on them like a ton of bricks if they where serious about making racism including:
  1. Transfer sanctions
  2. Points deduction
  3. Advertisement penalties
  4. Impose a ban on away travel :IE no tickets:

Acting like it's the odd idiot and not groups of people, some of which have explicitly stated their racist beliefs beforehand, is part of the problem.

No I’m not talking about orchestrated groups (like I already said) I’m saying there clearly are high profile instances where it is the odd idiot. Someone mentioned every instance caught on camera being punished, I’m saying it’s hard to do that.

I'm sorry but the time for making excuses is over

And if that bore any resemblance to what I’d said, I’d be right behind you.
What are you saying then? Because it sure reads like it's hard to punish people so why bother.

People are punished already so that would be a pretty ridiculous suggestion. The chat was about the CLUB being punished for the actions of individual people, over whom they have no control. I’m saying while I can understand the thought process, the reality is that it would be very difficult to do.

Oh I follow now.

But imo more often than not for these things to be heard by players on the field it has to be more than one person. The Cagliari incidents certainly were. And the letter to Lukaku from the Inter ultras suggests it probably will happen other places as well just the same.

As I said before acting like this is individuals and not a cultural and widespread issue only serves to enhance the problem.

Can’t wait for a team to just leave the pitch , I don’t really know why but I have a strong feeling England will be the first team to do it.
