Not a good look this is it.

Controlled by individuals establishment and aristocracy. I dont know if its the same overseas. But the passive aggressive nature of programmes like these are so transparent.
Best person ive seen who wipes the floor with them has been Mick Lynch. They cottoned on very quickly to stop giving him air time.
The Kay Burley/Mick lynch was nails down the chalkboard when he destroyed her rupert murdoch scripted interview.

Farage today pretending to be appalled by what we saw at the weekend, while going on to make the rioter’s case for them, and perpetuating this idea that we can’t talk about immigration.

We’ve had successive governments who’ve talked about little else, groups like UKIP and now reform who talk about this as their one policy platform, Brexit where the entire country talked about immigration endlessly.

Very much the Trumpian playbook this, soft criticism followed by fanning the flames.

I was warning yesterday this was going to be his play. Textbook by him

People on here should beware trying to silence people including Labour MPs, because all you're doing is given opportunists like Farage ammunition to claim he/they are being silenced and don't have a voice

Rather than trying to silence people it's better to address issues. At Everton we've had the silencing culture ("stop being negative" etc) for years too and look where it got us as a club

The way you deal with these types of issues is to out debate them and have better policies than them. That way Farage has no ammunition
i.e. you're giving the rioters credibility and people like Tommy Robinson, because you're literally trying to silence - Labour MP that is representing her constituents

Clearly there are issues in Tamworth and have been a long time.

She's not a councillor she's a Member of Parliament.

If you read the comments below the tweet locals are saying it is

People and this Seanjd is doing the usual. When people don't want to hear something and particularly the truth they try and silence it.

The truth needs airing. We've literally had civil wars in this country over parliamentary representation and lack thereof, in the House of Commons. Shouldn't be taken for granted and understand what it is there for.

That article is very misleading - buried within it is the mention that they were authorised for only the BLM demos between 12th and 15th June.

That was when the memorial-weeing protest was (on the 13th), and it was specifically mentioned that the risk around the counter-protest and the violence expected justified them being authorised.
I didn't post it just for the headline. I think it's important context for the discussion about policing and framing of 'protest'

Many of the people doing this are very very very poorly educated and frankly, stupid

The government needs to be listening and talking to every part of society. What's happening is a symptom of issues going back years that opportunists are taking advantage of on Musk's platform (internal like Farage and external like Russia's bot farms)

At the moment everything is about law and order and "full force of the law" which is just a sticking plaster

The government needs to be addressing and speaking to all parts of society and people in government should be thinking why has a bunch of stupid predominantly white people, been led into this

Address the issues before those grievances they think they have become bigger

Unfortunately, I suspect we'll see opportunists like Farage and Co. trying to take advantage and say "I told you so" etc

Farage with that statement doing exactly as predicted he would

The plan to build hundreds of thousands of affordable and social housing will help.

Don’t disagree with that. But for him to pretend that talking about immigration is somehow off the table, is nonsense. We talk about it constantly in this country. And have done for well over a decade.

The quality of that conversation is very poor.

People mix up visa migration with asylum applicants with small boats arrivals with deportation etc etc.

Farage and his ilk don’t want a proper conversation about it. They want to gaslight people that they’re “not allowed to talk about it”, as this drives feelings of division and helplessness and pushes people to protest parties like the ones he’s run.

Then in addition to "full force of the law" this is what government needs to be communicating now

It also needs to be actively having MPs speaking to constituents and then airing these views in Parliament

More jaw jaw not war war on our streets
