'Appalled' by the scenes but then goes on to justify it as we knew he would. Communities are 'fractured' by immigration which has caused riots; communities such as in the North East which has a 2% share of immigration, and in particular Sunderland which has seen the lowest increase in immigration of any small town or city in the country. Doesn't stop them burning down building and attacking non-white people though.

He is protecting himself from criminal prosecution with his first paragraph so it won't happend but he should be arrested for inciting violence.

It’s pretty transparent what’s he doing there.

This whole “you can’t talk about immigration” line is BS.

We know how some of the protesters want to ‘talk about immigration’, they want to set up race checkpoints so they can target and assault non-whites.

When several mosques have been attacked, even though the individual who committed the crimes in Southport had no connection to Islam, it doesn’t seem that controversial to say Islamophobia is a driving force behind some of the violence. If synagogues were being attacked, I don’t think anyone would question it being anti-Semitism.

Was pretty obvious that Islamophobia was a driving force, but actually do think it’s more fundamental than that. Think what we saw was emergent white supremacy, plain and simple.

Setting up race checkpoints in Middlesbrough.

The random black guy in Manchester getting set upon.

Ethnic shops and supermarkets getting targeted.

These aren’t specifically anti-Muslim actions.

Underlying Islamophobia definitely at play, but think we saw a general hatred against non-whites, full stop.

Each to his own. But it's a typical kopite response and self centred. He has a go at his own mates/RS fans who do follow the national team and who don't do the the "Scouse not English" thing.

And the Scouse not English is a socialist anti-thatcher unionist thing not a "some set of fans said bad things about my team" one.
Scouse but not English except for Everton fans.

Another divisive idiot.

Lad.

If the "community" really "wanted their hotel back" they wouldn't have tried to burn it down and trashed the place.
Not defending their actions. I’m saying the mp was representing what she was hearing in the ground. It is her job whether she agrees with it or not to deal with their concerns.
Concern from constituents = hotel full of “illegal immigrants”
MP solution = bring up in parliament that we need a faster processing of asylum seekers to counter rising resent in her constituency

No way is she condoning the actions or justifying the future actions.

That article is very misleading - buried within it is the mention that they were authorised for only the BLM demos between 12th and 15th June.

That was when the memorial-weeing protest was (on the 13th), and it was specifically mentioned that the risk around the counter-protest and the violence expected justified them being authorised.
