Was very surprised (and delighted) to hear the Met Commissioner specifically credit the turnout from the public as helping to prevent disorder last night.

That is what is required for our system to work, for the cops to merely be a section of society whose full time role is to do what everyone should be doing. This already happens loads of times but the more it happens the better it will be for us all.

Plus last night, Birmingham had anti EDL protesters on the streets, some armed wearing masks - as they had information the EDL were ready to arrive - no police presence what's so ever - a bit of serious trouble arose - every group amassing on UK streets has to be policed - whatever gathering takes place as violence as it did in spasms broke out in Birmingham last night - I can understand the frenzy of thinking their area was going to be attacked by EDL nutjobs, but the police have to control any such event .... as we are a multicultural society & have been for many years ...
We need official immigration for everyone as we have a massive skill shortage in Hospitals etc etc via our lack of decent training for our own population ATM it's just not happening - Labours pledge is to alter this situation ....

Think the truth is it’s a combination of both.

Getting some of the rioters nicked, charged and sentenced within days, and handing out serious time, will have had a massive deterrent effect.

Some of the hangers on, who just fancied turning up to smash a Greggs window, will have thought twice about being handed a 3 year stretch for it.

end of the day, these people often think that everyone thinks like them, because social media algorithms provide an echo chamber to their thoughts. Only the presence of normal people on the streets will show they are the new far right that they are the minority.

If all MPs, and every life peer in the Lords, disappeared overnight and we were just run by the remaining hereditaries and the Crown then we would have been much better governed and government would have been far more honest.

From what I’ve seen and heard There is a feeling of angst and anger in regards to hotels being closed to the public and being used for migrants, what it’s costing in regards to the tax payers etc.

Something needs clarifying or sorting out with that otherwise I suspect you are just going to continue to see people kick off.

Gut feeling is something is off with it all.

What isn’t helping is cement brained idiots trying to set fire to them and attacking Muslim communities.

And the worst thing is three children are deceased and some of those kicking off probably gave them a few seconds thoughts at best.

What isn't advertised heavily is that the hotel bill has been paid out of foreign aid, so not only is this money supporting british business and local jobs, but it also means said business and workers are paying british taxes, which in turn goes back to government.

Hopefully we're through the worst of these knobheads taking to the streets and causing trouble with the coming together of the 'anti-protest protesters'.
