Q&A With Ian Ross

pmsl at him bringing up death threats when he wasn't even asked on it.

He seems a massive tit at times, may i add.

But then he seems ok at others.

Intresting stuff i liked his frankness but working in the media you have to take it with a "pinch of salt", in fact sometimes i think he is to frank for his own good, however death threats to him and his family are an abomination.

Really he is a small but essential cog in the wheel and acts as a buffer between the board and fans (god knows they need it) a thankless job and i have sympathy for him.

Yes he was asked about it Cal, read the question:

The EGM got a bit heated at times, does your in-box reflect similar emotions or do you get more balanced mail?

So he replies with what he gets emailed. And apparently he has gotten a couple of death threats and plenty of verbal abuse.

He really doesn't like Toffeeweb or NSNO does he.

also which sick [Poor language removed] is emailing him about abusing his kids. I knew he got abuse but that is taking the piss the people involved should be ashamed of themselves.

"I honestly believe we already have the most open club in the Prem. Every email is personally answered (and swiftly)"

Makes you laugh.

Basically the message is:

Ian Ross is great. Everyone associated with the club is great. There is nothing wrong with the club, except some fans. Lots of fans are idiots. And the rest is the same stuff that the club has told for yonks (club for sale etc).

Oh, and he blatantly lied on that interview. He WAS on Kipper as goodisontec for quite a while.

He also shows just how unprofessional he is with his digs on ToffeeWeb and NSNO. It does not matter if they don't like you, a PR man for a company the size of Everton doesn't go and a have a dig at your customers.

And just how many "I'm great, me" comments did he actually do in that interview?

Ian Ross is a journalist who has no clue on PR (his "career" is one blunder to another so far - any self-respecting company would have kicked him out years ago). Yet he gets paid 70,000 pounds a year for prentending to be one.

I'm just surprised he even emails anybody back to be honest. I dont think he should to be honest.

Monitor the fanbase, maybe do the odd QandA and feedback sessions but not have personal email one-to-ones with em, just encourages the clowns of the world to vent anger personally at people within the club.

When he does reply it just causes more anger if he doesnt answer the right questions properly or he fabricates things -- as Ghost Of Dixie found out a few months ago.

Dont ask and dont tell I think. But good on him for trying.

Interesting read and he seemed to be a pretty "stressed" out guy. I'm not sure that he'll be with us forever! I've no reason to doubt that he has received death threats because it is the sort of thing that happens these days in football. As such, I hope the arseholes that did send these are ashamed of that. Pathetic, really pathetic. (n)

I've received occasional death threats. I can confirm it does tend to prey on your mind, and you do tend to feel justified mentioning it.
I'd be very 'surprised' if anyone on the receiving end of such threats claimed to feel differently.

You've received death threats! I'm not surprised that it would prey on your mind.
