Q&A With Ian Ross

No, I'm saying that both sides have a responsibility to behave suitably, and whilst I admit that there are no doubt many things both Ian Ross and the club as a whole can improve upon, the behaviour of a section of our fanbase this summer is not the correct way to achieve change.

You are forgetting that on the other side there are 500,000 people so shifting the blame from the few on the other side based on the actions of a few of those half a million is unjustifiable.

This summer has been the nadir of all the crap that has been going on for years at the club. It's not just this summer the club has treated us fans like this. The main problem seems to be they have always (during this reign) treated us as a necessary evil. A prime example was Ross telling in front of the shareholders at an AGM that "the ramblings of a few drunken knobheads are meaningless" (or something to that effect).

Who did he aim that at? Ian McDonald, ex-friend of Kenwright and one of the nicest people I have ever known. This guy has done more to fellow Evertonians than the entire staff of Everton put together and he gets that sort of treatment from the club.

And this happened several years ago.

Or, instead, it could mean that Bill will only sell to someone that can move the club in directions that he cannot.

I dont think so. A billionaire can move the club forward in a direction that he can't, but always with the proviso that they are the right type of billionaire...presumably one who knows or supports the clubs traditions. No wonder he's been looking 24/7 and come up with fcuk all.

He's a phony, an actor, and he'll be here at Everton FC for the forseeable future. I know, you know it, everyone else knows it.

Well be sold by Crimbo or at least before the start of next season. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it b)

Have I missed something? BK has stated the club has been for sale for the past 7 years. Does this mean his friend Keith Harris is now looking 25/8?

Well there are billionaires and then there are billionaires. Some are relatively straightforward business people that have operated lawfully within established economies. This type does not have groups like amnesty international calling for their arrest or for their assets to be frozen. Then we have the other types, ones that have scammed the wealth of a country, that have got richer even though their citizens languish in poverty. Some have murdered their own citizens, etc, etc. The first one is the one that we want. The second one is not. Let the likes of City deal with the devil (and possibly the RS).

Also, I know that Bill has this propensity to be a bit liberal with the truth. I honestly think he's the type of guy that wants to make everyone happy so lets his mouth run away with him before his brain has kicked in. He's a bit like a more naive Tony Blair. Not a liar, just not thoughtful enough. He says things on the spur of the moment and later on has to backtrack. Deep down I think he's a decent enough man, although not as moral as someone like Moyes!

He gets treated like a politician where every single work is scrutinized and assumed to be laced with other meanings.

Another thought.

If someone shouted abuse at your corner shop manager, would you accept that he shouted at you? No, you would take your shopping somewhere else.

Problem is, the club knows we fans aren't just going to walk across the park, so they know they can get away with this. Even to the point many people apologise and make excuses for them.

There's 'good' billionaires and bad? As far as I'm concerned they're all the same. They'll all have gotten their wealth by exploiting large numbers of people in some shape or form.

That's another euphemism for liar isnt it, like 'economical with the facts'?

You make him sound like a child. He's a man in his 60s.

There is a difference between a Thaskin character and a Lerner character, mate. If you can't differentiate then you're in big trouble as a judge of character.

Not really a euphemism for liar. I implied that he skates close to the wind on occasion, as do many people. My chief point was that he's liable to get carried away. If he actually means something when he says it, then he's not a liar, even if it proves he cannot deliver the promise.

Halewood/Kenada_blue:

Placing conditions such as 'suitable' on a buyer is effectively saying it wont be sold...not ever. I say that because BK has stated that only a billionaire will now do for Everton, whilst in the same breath telling us that no Everton billionaires exist.

Ergo: no suitable buyer.

That feller will hang onto this club even if it means seeing us plummet down the table and into the Championship. Forget all the talk of 'I hope I'm not here (as chairman/'owner') next year. He will be because he has set an unreachable target for his successor...and any reasonable minded person can see that.

What utter rubbish bodi totally agree with his stance. Whats the point in selling to someone who cant take the club much further than bill himself. How would that help us dave?

interesting to see his comment about Wyness wanting the 39th game and he was the person who pushed the idea whilst others didnt favour it.
