Pure Rumour - Heitinga to Inter £10m

I think we have all known for quite some time that David Moyes is willing to sell John Heitinga.
At the very start of the summer Sheedy said that Everton were letting it be known they would sell.
Maybe Moyes has reservations about him, maybe they fear he is intent on running down his contract and leaving for free in two years or a greatly reduced fee next year.
Maybe the manager has somebody in mind that he wants to bring in and sees as the long term replacement for Distin and Jagielka.

I think Johnny's a bit like Rodwell in Daveys mind, youknow there is a good player there, but he just doesnt fancy him.

And yet he fancies Hibbo and Nev.

He's got weird taste. Rodwell and Heitinga are studs.

Oh, you mean football-wise?

I'd love Heitinga to stay, but think we may sell him, if we have a replacement lined up. However, I doubt Spurs are in for him - they've already got 4 Prem Quality cb's (Kaboul, Vertonghen, Gallas and Caulker - probably why Dawson was sold, they can get good £££ for him and he is expendable). Heitinga probably wouldn't get into their first choice defence (Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto). Can't see AVB spending £10 mil on a 28 year old who'd be a sub, especially after giving Caulker a 5 year deal!

Be gutted if he goes for less than £!0m. I can't understand why Moyes doesn't like him?

Only reason I can think of is that Johnny comes across as a big character, they never seem to last long at Everton.

When Drenthe scored one of his better goals, he ran to Johnny in the dug-out. Another time he ran to Mucha.

Obviously reading into that a lot, but it seemed to me at the time that Drenthe would just run to a player who was also on the outer with Moyes. Johnny could be back on those terms again.

Probably mates because they're both dutch.

Yeah, as I said: I know how much I'm reading into it. But the Mucha one just weirded me out.

From the amazing Twitter source:

"John Heitinga â€￾@Johnheitinga
Dear @mark_unsworth Yes, I will fight for my position and stay at #Everton"
