Exactly. While I'm no fan of Moyes, he has to play by the framework setup by the club. And while the framework is ****, there is no way around it. If Heitinga and Cahill go I'm sure replacements have been lined up.

Cahill has lost his value to the team and his wages will go towards Pienaar. Heitinga has just had the worst Euros possible and if Inter come knocking with £10 m. I would not blame Moyes, the club or Heitinga for making that deal. I rate Duffy and for £10 m. you could get a good replacement and money to spare.

Oh I agree. Centre defence is relatively strong and that's where a financial basket case of a club like this can *afford* to trim from.

If not Heitinga though, it'll be some other high profile name. That was inevitable once Baines resisted being shunted up the East Lancs to United.

Anything under 7mill and we've been had.

Hes been usefull for us at times and spells - he never really commanded a place though did he. Hes had two good six month spells for us really. Ive liked him at times other times ive been less than impressed.

I dont think we will miss him hugely if he goes. Lets wait and see who and where we strengthen with any fee. If say selling the Heit enabled us to get a Dempsy - then i wouldnt be to fussed.

I'm a bit numb really. Naismith and potentially Pienaar, good news and squad building, but JH going is poor, and whilst Cahill is no longer the future of this once great club he epitomises all the things I love about the club, fight, doggedness, no lie down, loyalty...it goes on. He is truly a legend. Never again will we see him boxing the corner flag and raising the crowd.

Sad day.
