It is. But we need to be surpassing the best Martinez season...and on that point today this current manager stated its "unrealistic to get top four"...which is a disgrace.Point being Dave that's it's better than an average Martinez season so that is progress

Nonsense. Mid table and two extensive cup runs are more worthwhile to a BS 7th place and being dumped out of the cups early doors.I used to think 7th was the bare minimum acceptable for Everton before Martinez shifted the lens through which underachievement can be viewed. 7th is therefore decent with this squad. I could take it better if we were just generally inconsistent but it hasn't been that, it's mentality issues again, can't play big games, can't play v Liverpool, can't play away from home. These players are comfortable with Everton being crap, that sticks in the throat.
Nope. A general question put to him about how high the club can go was answered by "top four is unrealistic".Was he not referring to this season?
But it wasn't unrealistic for Leicester to get in the top 1 last season. Serious lack of a winning mentality throughout the club.It is. A Moyes team he taught how to play football. We had to clear the Martinez players first mate so not sure I follow that logic. He has progressed from last season that's for sure.
P.s that Martinez season of 72 points was a Moyes team

...anyway, not arsed with rehashing those arguments. The topic is "progress".No Dave....we he started implementing his Idea's we went backwards mate......bottom half of the table backwards

In a way, yes. Better league form again and better home form more particularly. Overall and fundamentally though: no. There is no resilience to this team and they'll always be found out when it matters. This current manager hasn't changed that one iota.
