Everton away from home would make being on eccies boring

Everton at home are generally pretty boss

We need some more players, but not every issue will be solved by new signings.

Most issues can be solved by new signings. If we dont have a good summer this time we won't recover for a while.

Got to stop being serial end-of-season bottlers. This is the 25th season of the PL and that will be 100 games worth of the last 4 games of each season. Our record doesn't make great reading

Home:
Won 20 Drew 15 Lost 15 For 73 Against 56
Away:
Won 11 Drew 10 Lost 27 For 49 Against 88
Total
Won 31 Drew 25 Lost 42 For 122 Against 144 Points 118

So 1.2 points per game in this survey or the equivalent of 46 points per league season.
We've managed 1321 points in 960 games thus far in the PL - meaning around 51-52 per season - or over 53 as an average without the end of season fall off. So basically we're a top 7 side for 34 games and a 12-13th average for the tail end of the season.

Real progress in a p...poor league
Let's be honest if we didn't do better (progress)than last season we would be close to the drop

We definitely need new signings Tim - but not for the sake of it. We need 5 players ready to come into the first team I reckon (GK, CB (x2?), ST (2 if Rom leaves), LW/Attacking mid) and then 2 really decent squad players.

7 total would be my guess. Hopefully we can get our no.1 targets for each role, unlike last summer.

But not every problem is solved by new signings. I love Koeman, but some of his tactical changes away from home have been poor. Maybe, better players will change that, but there's no guarantee - is my point.

Improvements to be made across the board. New signings are boss, but only when they're actually going to contribute quality.

Exactly... Progress, yes, but that wouldn't be diffcult. But what is progress from here? Where do we expect to be next year? Higher than 7th? If so, I'm not convinced it's happening. Hinestly, right now I'd finish 17th and win the League Cup

The best bit of progress has been that we are no longer crapping ourselves when we are ahead in games about the inevitable collapse that happened under the previous regime.

We have backbone and resilience again and we are no longer the soft pushovers that we had become when defending was abandoned by the previous manager.

Its something to build on in the coming seasons but it should have never been allowed to happen in the first place.

Compared to last two seasons this is progress. Que Dave to tell us otherwise
You dont need me to tell you that it's hardly a massive leap forward going from midtable and decent cups runs to 7th and the season effectively ending in early January.

We're on 50 odd points mate. That's a Moyes season...an average one.

It's nothing.

7th is nothing.

Point being Dave that's it's better than an average Martinez season so that is progress
