Fifa stole from PES, tweaked it and have a winning forumla now. Give it a few years and Fifa will probably grow stale (its feeling like that to me now with movement, celebrations, intro's, cups, all being the same since EA cracked the formula on Fifa 08).

PES has had 2 inferior games (08-09) when Fifa started to get it right. Before that PES had been in the driving seat since 2001 - with PES 5-6 probably being the best football games ever made.

I've tried getting into Fifa, have bought them and will buy it. But like I've said, PES seems more personal and rewarding that Fifa to me.

Fifa is a cracking online game though and shines there. But I think the actual single player on PES is always best.

you dont have to convince me on the backstory, ive been playing them since the snes days from iss64 throught to pro evo.

And would agree with everything youve said, about how more rewarding it is to win 2-1 on pro evo compared to 14-12 on fifa.

But this version of fifa, and its the first ive properly played or owned in a few years, gives me back the feeling pro evo used to.
If the online is fixed and its a return to form that the reviews suggest i'll probably be trading fifa in, but that online thing is a big IF.

It endorses players rather than teams, mate. Man Utd, Liverpool, Barca, and a few others are the official teams on there. Spurs and Newcastle have been on previous ones (2008 I think).

Its more Torres and Messi than Barca and Liverpool. Fifa have Rooney, who could PES have from Man Utd? PES had Ronaldo in 08.

Konami have to get what they're given rather than have EVERY license available. Wasnt long ago Roberto Larcos was playing instead of Roberto Carlos....get me drift?

Even then though, you can basically pick up Fifa and not do all them and still win 5-0 with a few through balls. With Pro is becomes something that you need to do, especially on Master League.

Fifa for show, PES for a Pro.:) But I've always said, its a matter of tastes.

umm those things were added in 09 and if your winning 5-0 you need to put the difficulty up.

It is amazing tho how divided and passionate people get though. It's good we care so much about the rivalry of our games

No they weren't, you could change your formations and individual game tactics to attack and defend, but nothing on individual players or positions. And yes I do put the difficulty so those 5-0s turn to 2-0s from amateur to pro
