Pro Evo 2010 - all in here

Just been reading up on arle forums....

The whole Fifa 10 v PES 2010 debate seems to be basically -

You want a fun kickabout with mates or just a casual league/matches get Fifa 10.

Want something a bit more indepth and tactical get PES 2010.

Other than that, its personal taste.

Actually I got the complete opposite from the review. If you want an arcadey, 4-3 manchester derby style game you play PES and if you want a more continental pace then you play FIFA I seem to recall it saying. Complete opposite.

Also find it a bit funny that Kenada has made something like 14 of the thread's 18 posts, think you're taking this PES vs FIFA thing too far.

I would have agreed with that once upon a time, and if pes has returned to former glory, great, even though i just shelled out for fifa 10.

But ive joined a growing band of pro-evo to fifa 10 defectors for a reason.

Fifa 10 plays like pro evo should if it hadnt gone sideways.
To my mind the synthetic lightweight feel of the gameplay of years past has been eradicated, and it feels much more satisfying now, like the way i remember pro evo used to!

I'm loving the be a pro mode.......

I know a few who have done the same, but more from the fact Fifa is something different after a decede of being PES gamers.

Fifa stole from PES, tweaked it and have a winning forumla now. Give it a few years and Fifa will probably grow stale (its feeling like that to me now with movement, celebrations, intro's, cups, all being the same since EA cracked the formula on Fifa 08).

PES has had 2 inferior games (08-09) when Fifa started to get it right. Before that PES had been in the driving seat since 2001 - with PES 5-6 probably being the best football games ever made.

I've tried getting into Fifa, have bought them and will buy it. But like I've said, PES seems more personal and rewarding that Fifa to me.

Fifa is a cracking online game though and shines there. But I think the actual single player on PES is always best.

Wasnt that more of a pace comparrison as its got the pace of the Manchester Derby than the continental pace of Fifa? Still has nothing to do with the tactical approach.

As for the thread, there's a Fifa thread so I thought I'd throw a PES one up.

Overall, the PES v Fifa thing, as I've always said, is down to tastes rather than which one is best. Its not an attack on Fifa either. Most reviewers worth their salt will tell you that the only similarites between the types of game is that they're both football games rather than similar styles of gameplay.

Most people who bang on about the Vs between the 2 games feel there's a absolute with the games ie Fifa is the ULTIMATE football sim or vice versa. Both games arent. But what they do have is pro's and con's.

Only made the one comment about it to be fair. Was just putting up early PES reviews and got into a convo with Blu Tak.

Keneda i love you lad, i thought i was the only PES head left in the world.

So many of my mates - the same mates who, when PES 6 came out we missed school and went to HMV to buy the game as we were so excited and then took the day off to play all day - those mates have now sold their soul and defected to FIFA.

I have stayed loyal and always will to PES, not crossing over to the the game that as you quite rightly said - stole PES's ideas and used them as their own. The only thing i can see wrong with PES2010 is that ladyboy Torres is on the cover

This FIFA vs PES every year is always a hot talking point, the biggest battle since oasis vs blur in the 90s. I look forward to playing it, in fact i can't wait!

Yeah I know, but it makes it harder to cripple him whenever I play against the RS, normally you can tell cos his hair is really yellow, but in this FIFA he looks like any other player, I need to hurt him.

Yeah well with FIFA you have to watch Rooneys big fat granny humping face everytime you load the game.

I got FIFA to play untill Pro comes out, it will be nice to have options. But im defo in the Pro gang, havent really bothered with FIFA for a while, but this game has so many flaws its unreal.

Massive fun online team games tho.

Fifa just hit a hot formula with the 08-09 version when PES messed it up a little. So with the flashing lights, licenses, more teams etc people jumped ship.

What saves Fifa is online IMO, and everyone is into online big time. I love playing COD 4 etc online, but I cant stand footy games on it though. You play either some cheating [Poor language removed] on it who just does the same thing over and over, play as Barca, or a ball greedy ****s on the 10v10.

PES online is awful and glitchy. Apparantly is all sorted for this year, even the Konami ID thing has been scrapped so you dive straight in. But PES single player has always been top IMO. Scoring goals has always been more rewarding and you can always score a good top bin screamer. And I've always said I like the personal side to it - changing the boots (apparantly the boots have stats on this years games for some reason hahah), hair, stats, and now the chants and music. Fifa has always been a "look but dont touch" thing. I like modding PES.

Its not a slight on Fifa, like I keep saying, I do like it.

But I dont care if people jump the bandwagon. **** em I say. They've had 2 years in the sun over PES's 6 years. Its something different from playing PES for years so let them play it.

Basically if Pro is actually good and not bugged to **** it will be better than FIFA because it's Pro.

Meant to run smooth as. They've been testing online, and will do till it needs to be shipped because it will sink or swin if the online is [Poor language removed].

Seabass has said they're spent more time listening to fan feedback and online is something they've said they've smashed into to sort out.

I've said before, the demo is a really old code of the game. They dont even the back view when you take peno's in the demo, that's how old the game code is.

For the first time since 97, I bought Fifa.

Pro Evo is dead to me. The Liverpool affiliation is the straw that broke the camels back.
