Well like I said, FOR THE FIRST TWO EVER TO BE LOBBED IN IT, an objective measure of their PL achievements (which will be unlikely to be bettered), is a worthy measure of why they are selected.

No one can argue that Shearer scored more goals than anyone else, and no one can argue that Giggs hasnt won more titles than anyone else. Hence, no argument.

To me this is like if La Liga did it and instead of picking Messi and Ronaldo they went for Paco Gento (I had to look it up) because he won more titles.

Henry maybe isn't clearly above everyone like Ronaldo, but it still feels like the wrong way to go about it to me.

It just feels weird to say that using those two measures means there can be no argument, when there's pretty easy holes to poke.

Christ on a bike. All I said was that for the first 2 players in it, I would prefer an objective reason why they are in it. Not some half arsed fan vote, not some A is better than B, just a recognition that the all time top scorer and all time PL winner should be the first 2 in.

Because picking those two things as the objective measures still brings a degree of subjectivity.

For example I think the objective measures of most goals and most FWA footballer of the year awards should be used.

Henry and Shearer.

You do realise that these will not be the only 2 ever to be lobbed in it?

And what pretty easy holes can you poke? Name me one player who has scored more PL goals than Shearer, then the player with 14 PL titles.
