Potential Summer Transfer Targets

I'm fairly sure in the summer I said that I didn't think signing Lukaku on loan would be worth it as he wouldn't be that effective and just take up wages whilst we develop another team's player. I'm also fairly sure I said I'd rather we just play Anichebe.

What do you guys think of Mario Gomez? Not sure he's in our price range but, he's only played 9 times this season and has seemingly fallen out of favor at bayern. Maybe a loan?
 
Haha to be fair BLF, he didn't look quite ready last season at chelsea. knew he'd improve, but didn't think he'd be showing so many glimpses this season of what potential he has. btw i'm basing on this of how boss he was for me on FM2010, scoring 40 goals a season etc.

i like him. But wages will be way too much and there's no point in us thinking about a perm move for him, just wouldn't happen

He looks about 30 as well. Can't see them letting him go either, you don't sign an 18 year old for a deal worth up to 20 million and then get rid of him 2 years later when he's in good form.

Yeah that's probably what I based my opinion on. At the moment though he's showing skill and some real instinctive finishing to go with his pace and ridiculous frame. The guy has the potential to be Drogba MK2.

He's in the same bracket as Lukaku really (although I'd probably pick Lukaku if I had to choose), either of them could turn in to world beaters. What a bargain he was too, whatever happens to Villa they're sure to make a nice profit on him.
