Well the right hand side is still a concern for me.
I think everyone would agree Heitinger didn't have a good game today, give him time. Osman(Moyes little pet) on the other hand has had plenty of time and chances. Believe me, when we get allour players back, he'll be on borrowed time, hence no more than a squad player. Until then we'll have to stick with it.

pienaar, the yak, arteta,it's bad enough they've all had lbad injuries and they're all coming back into the team to bolster us then this happens,i hope he's ok as he's mint and he's playing out of his skin.
Yeah, he's really stepped up a notch or two this season. I had my doubts with him last year, he's impressed me of late.

there was a few who had bad days today,it's just one of them days, rodwell too,he's been imense but their allowed off days so let's hope that's a really bad day out the way even though we won, sometimes you can batter a goal and come away with nothing and some days you have the odd shots of which one goes in and settles a game, that was us today.

I'd be more worried if we had played well and lost. We were below par and up against it in the second half, we survived... Onwards and upwards I say..b)

we're more stronger this season compared to last and we've got that bad start to the season out the way, lescott going buggered us a bit but i feel we're stronger for him going now.

i'm almost always optimistic mate, maybe pre season i was a tad worried wondering whether we would get any decent players in when lescott went but transfer windows are a nail biter for us blues but we look solid now,4 games without a goal conceded, saha on fire.(y)

Also Heitinga's worrying me a bit.

Was no better than Hibbert, and got skinned a lot. Had some nice moments, but not as many as i'd like. Also tended to hoof a fair bit.

But he got an assist today, so fair enough.

I have missed the match after all, but I was kept updated by friend, so I know we were a goal up.

It was a tough game and it was as expected, when you are playing a team who have no point after 6 match, and losing 0-1 on your 7th game, would you be giving your all to get at least a point.

We have only ourselve to blame for not scoring the second goal, when I look at the statistic of the match is pretty even, we have more shots on target and they have little bit more of the ball, we had 10 shots and 6 on target and we fail to get more than a goal is a little disappointment to me.

Well, nothing to complain 3 points is 3 points, it would be great if we could win it with 3-4 goals but 1-0 is still 3 points, isn't it?

You can't expect to win by 3~4 goals every match, we would probably look back at the end of the season, this was a match where we could have dropped 2 points and because of that we fail to finish in Top 4/5, so, well fought 3 points, well done to the lads!

Good result, shocking performance.

I really worry for this team to be honest, today I was hoping we'd really prove we have the composure to retain possession and just see the game out with ease against a bog average side.

That wasn't the case, no one demanded the ball and there was a bad lack of composure at times. It seems to me that Pienaar and Arteta especially carry alot of our team. They take responsibility and everyone follows suite, when there not there no one steps up, especially away from home.

I hope I'm wrong, I hope's it's a case of a small, tight pitch and a team fighting for there lives but it doesn't look good. We look vulnerable away from home, both on and off the ball.

The win's great but I was hoping to see an improvement in the style and balance of our side. I'm yet to be convinced.

bang on mate.

We were a bit [Poor language removed] weren't we, didn't deserve a point there but got it so no complaints - that's the difference when we have class like Saha.

Got overan in the middle and down the right, especially in the second half - shouldnt really as we have five in the middle but just wasnt working, we made an awful team look good today.

Heitinga was appalling, he needs more time to to be honest I'd rather persist with Hibbert there on current form or when Neill's fit enough he deserves a go there.

Pienaar, thats a real worry. Hoping not.

Think even if we gave him all the time in the world, he still wouldn't become a top class RB for Everton. I'm sorry, but I just don't rate him playing in that position.

Second half proformence was awfull, some of the stuff in the first half was good.

Pompey's sat back with two deep banks of four to frustrate us, which worked up untill Louis scored and then that went out the window after Louis scored.

Pompey werent as bad as i thought, a lot of desire and heart and played well IMO we had the luck and a little more quality. Thought the game passed Rodders by a bit, Mo Fro got sloppy in the second half after a very good first, Tim tried to get stuck in - but the retention in the midfeild was awfull in the second half and we had no outlet after Pienaar went off he was badly missed. We are missing that central creative outlet. Neville is being missed to IMO - his leadership qualities for me. Heitinga didnt look great and i was releived when Hibbert came on, lets give the lad a chance though. Im not happy with the defence overall every team we played against this season are making chances to easily against us.

All in all a very average performence especially in the second half, but Pompey werent the soft touch people were making out, what they lacked in quality they made up in effort and heart bouyed by an entusiastic home crowd.

Job done 3 points - we move on.

Thought Baines was superb.
