First off : 3 points, the most important thing.

But was there a person watching that game who knows anything about us that didn't think we were gonan come out second half and sit back allowing them to come at us and create chances?

I said it, my neutral mate said it and what a surprise, it happened.

I can handle playing poorly from individuals, they're human, it happens, we can't play well as a team every game.

But you can't play good or bad if you don't have the ball. How the hell anyone can justify the amount of possession we gave them, the team who had lost 6 out of 6.

Once again our tactics didn't work. We were just damn lucky Portsmouth didnt score the chances we gave them, but the fact we allowed them so many chances means something wasn't right on our part.

And that ain't negativity, that ain't kneejerk or any such things people might be tempted to say, its looking at the game and trying to see why we managed to scrape a victory by the skin of our teeth against such a poor side 1-0 down at half time.

And once again another great big LOLZ to the people who thought Heitinga was gonna be great and we had seen the last of Hibbert and Osman down the right.

Spot on.

Of course happy we won, well more relieved than happy. Just annoyed at the performance of some of the players.
Don't be so pedantic! First half, Everton played some good football against a side sent out to be physical, even more so in the second half. Peanuts was lively today, our best player in fact. Had he not gone off we would've kept our shape and composure a little better.

Not being pedantic. We played ok, but we sat back and invited pressure and we very lucky not to lose that game. I'm entitled to show concern at a level of performance not good enough for this league.

well i'm not gonna start a thread just to announce the league leaders are getting beat

How about starting a thread in World Football about today's games. It keeps this thread on topic, because it can meander quickly.
