A lot of it is just attention seeking regardless of whether it's a celebrity or not. I don't know anyone who cares if someone is gay. In the civilised non-brexity parts of The UK someones sexuality is not an issue at all and a certain amount of people use this to attract attention and support for sillier things. If someone were to come out in our nations more neanderthal regions or Saudi Arabia then they would have my complete sympathy and support.
