Phil Neville.....

Im not sure hes been that bad all Season tho.

But age catches up with everybody at some "point".

I agree & I've defended him in the past, but he looked a busted flush at Boundary park.

He certainly can't play full back anymore, no wonder Moyes stuck Jags there, as he must have seen Neville starting to wane big time in training.

Ive also defended him in the past, but your only as good as your last game and last game he was terrible.

But you could say the same of a few people who played on Saturday.

All things must pass.

Second half I thought we were alright tbh, we started to play a bit & looked largely comfortable until the last couple of minutes.

Despite the poor result I don't think anyone disgraced themselves aside from Neville

Phill is coughing like old men do - in the ear of Roony - see how Roony looks the other way to avoid the dribble -
or alternatively he is bowing to the superior skills of the player (Roony) whom he is shadowing -
or he is absolutely crapping himself marking Roony

Age caught up with him last season really, but we were playing such gash football for a large part of it that he sort of blended in.

Now that we've been trying to play decent attacking football he stands out massively.

Name me a WORSE current player in the Premier League!?
"I became an Evertonian when I made THAT tackle on Ronaldo" - No sorry Sir Phil, you became an "Evertonian" when you signed a professional contract at almost £50k a week with Everton FC!!
"David Moyes would make a great manager of Man Utd" - this was not taken out of context and with Phil it is ALWAYS Man Utd 1st, Everton 2nd!
"I didnt know if I wanted to score the penalty" - in the post-match interview after the semi-final against Man Utd! These 2 quotes are from the captain of our club... there are 100's of others - even put on the official site!!!!

The way he came into this club and swaggered about CM spraying balls like Beckham... pity they almost always ended up in the stands or to no1 in particular.... Neville's ONLY ability is to use his awareness on how to position himself to avoid having to tackle or to receive a pass! He is the worst captain in the history of our club... every media "performance" has been truly shameful and embarrassing and he always talks about Man Utd!
He would be totally demotivating in the changing room - how can a player who has been a liability and is barely League 2 standard speak to people like Fellaini and Baines and tell them a performance is needed or they aren't playing well? "No Phil, you need to not f*k up again today"

I have never disliked an Everton player as much as this man. I would rather have Nyarko in CM or Marc Hottiger at RB than him.... Please just give it up Phil, you talentless, pointing, public schoolboy, tory idiot!

1) What does somebody's education have to do with their ability as a footballer ?
2) He didn't even go to a public school.

...I'm a fan but appreciate his appeal is more about his impact on others than his playing ability. Saying that, I prefer him to Coleman who I think is work in progress and has cost us defensively this season. I'm hoping that young Stone leapfrogs them all in the near future.
Interesting interview with Arteta on Soccer AM on Saturday where he spoke in glowing terms about Neville's influence and professionalism.

Lets be honest he's hardly going to reign it in if he's getting picked every week, made captain, and on a healthy wage. Would you throw your job away even if you knew you weren't doing great at it but the boss didn't?
