If we bring in Mina and Zouma he’ll be 5th choice behind Keane and Holgate as well. He’s 36 for gods sake so he doesn’t deserve the abuse he gets. Very very good player for us over the years between 07-14 he was an absolutely top draw centreback. But she has slowed him down, no shame in that.

jags has been one of our best servants in his time here and deserves respect and dignity from supporters. he has never been anything other than a very good pro for us.
im quite happy to see him see out his career in our squad.

ive got to say I find some of the attitude from so called supporters towards players who have worked hard for our club, nothing short of disgusting.
I hope they are kopites in disguise , because if they think they are actual everton supporters it would be a shame.

One of the best recoveries I’ve ever seen from a cruciate ligament injury. He came back still a top drawer player when so many (e.g Bolasie) just are never the same. Interesting how quickly Lescott declined whereas Jags still maintained a top level into his early 30s.

Personally I can't wait to see the back of the guy.

He epitomises the loser attitude that has ran through this club for far to long. Hate the way he always plays our club down.

Good player a few years ago but been past it for a good couple of seasons now.

Give Coleman the armband and move on from the era of plucky little Everton.

If he had any pride and professionalism he'd pack his bags and stop robbing us blind and drop down a division to get games on a weekly basis.

Funny how all those times when we needed him when we could barely put out a decent defence he’d roll himself out even when unfit or injured and put in a great performance no one was complaining then where they? Yet after over a decade of top service we can’t even let him play out a season on our bench without telling him he’s ‘robbing us blind’? Awful attitude.

this.

Odds on him showing an ounce of professionalism and insisting on a move to prolong his career instead of sitting on our bench picking up his millions? Nah, didn't think so. Captain Fantastic.

Time's up for Jags. He knows it and we all know it. Fans heads are dropping when he's in the team. For example, I'm resigned to him and Keane starting against Wolves and not confident of our chances as a result.
Overall, there's many different opinions on him. For me, he's been a good pro and solid for us over a long period of time. By and large, and despite the odd good game here and there, I've not enjoyed his performances over the last couple of seasons really. Time waits for no one.
Certainly in the Moyes era and probably the start of the Martinez years he was worth his place.
Go with good grace now.

I'm glad he stayed tbh. He was our best centre half last season which, while not saying much, shows that we can't afford to be discarding players because of a perception that they are old and washed up. Jags could still contribute if his game time is managed, and we might still need him if this Colombian we know absolutely nothing about turns out to be another Keane or Funes Mori

..I don’t recall the club ever being prepared to let him go. Fine professional is Jagielka.
No doubting that Eggs. He's been an admirable servant to Everton Football Club. But, the ironic rub therein that compliment is, a leader he is not. Is he a good bloke?...yes, definitely... but let's be honest: he's a captain who men might follow anywhere...but sadly, it'd only be out of curiosity... and in anticipation of a bit of a snigger.
We need Seamus to be captain.
