Patience

Are we too demanding and unrealistic

Patience is indeed important but we've got 3 shots on goal as opposed to Leeds' 4, 0.69 goal expectancy with Leeds finishing with 1.39. All this happening on home turf

Things are looking bleak

We come off the back of a very good win away to a team that are still only a couple of points off the top, have a chance of going 7th with a win at home to a team in the lower reaches of the league, and what happens? A good opening few minutes before we get overrun by said team at the wrong end of the league and are only get back into the game in the second half to rescue a point. Instead of jumping to 7th with a home win, we stumbled and staggered our way to 10th. Is it too much to ask for the team to back up one good result away with a solid home win? Don`t think that`s too much to ask for.

Like a whiny bitch, eh?

I'm surprised and SHOCKED (perhaps a little DISMAYED also) that you are apparently endorsing such BLATANT MISOGYNY, sweet cheeks...

Startling indeed

On-topic: so far as I can apprehend it, given the post came from the T.B. thread: case-in-point of patience being rewarded.

Did you hear that one of our players smiled and danced while he celebrated after scoring?

Proper disgusting that. Embarrassing stuff. You wouldn't see players at top clubs don't anything like that!
I like seeing player celebrate. I love it when a keeper celebrates a good save or defender celebrities a tackle. It gets the fans up, helps the team. Obviously not when, we are getting battered. We don't want to go back to toxic times like when Dyche was in charge.

Imagine thinking your football club win football matches.
Disgusting behavior from our fanbase.
As long as they show up and run hard, that's all we should expect.
We're Everton after all.

Just seen this interesting post and it made me think.

Do you think we as Evertonians on here are unrealistic in our demands? That we demand crushing exceptionalism from all which stifles breathing space for young humans to develop, gain confidence and perform? Or should we remain steadfast to a Latin motto on which our club was formed a few centuries ago?

I can’t work it out.

That person you quoted also clapped Kenwright at the Villa game.

He would urinate on our motto.

I've voted unsure because there are two facets to the realism debate, but that's also difficult to assess due to how weird this season has been so far.

I'd say before the season started, thinking about European qualification was unrealistic because of where we had been in the previous few years and because of signing a bunch of players that would need time to grow into the league and club. Shift that to how this season has gone and I'd say it has been a realistic expectation due to how poor so many sides have been. On our day we can match and beat most teams. Some of those players we signed like Barry are now growing into it more and doing well.

What has never been an unrealistic expectation is for the team and manager to perform to the best of their ability each week. There have been far too many games this year where we have looked way off the pace, playing awful football and it's been quite frankly, embarassing.

Going out of both cup competitions so early and in such pathetic circumstances has also been a red flag.

Before this season I think I had us finishing anywhere between 14th and 8th but I'd now be disappointed if we didn't finish in the top 10.
