Are we too demanding and unrealistic

Just seen this interesting post and it made me think.

I hate all this NSNO, winning mentality stuff people like you spout. We all want to win, no one is satisfied. Some of us just aren’t attention seeking misery arses and like celebrating goals/generally being positive instead of looking for things to moan about like a whiny bitch.

Do you think we as Evertonians on here are unrealistic in our demands? That we demand crushing exceptionalism from all which stifles breathing space for young humans to develop, gain confidence and perform? Or should we remain steadfast to a Latin motto on which our club was formed a few centuries ago?

I can’t work it out.

Absolutely no doubt about it, but to be fair most football fans are impatient. They want it now and only now, some handle it better though.

I feel that I do handle it better than I used to, I want Everton to win now but there is an understanding in my mind that, realistically, it is not going to happen, so try to focus on the small improvements and be positive.

Oh, and it is much better for my mental health as well.

The club has been broken by a succession of bad decisions and bad luck. We were lucky it wasn't relegated and destroyed entirely. We are still here at the top table. It will obviously take time to recover properly.

People complaining now are like those blaming Labour for pot holes and illegal immigration, even though both of those are slowly improving after being caused by 15 or so years of tory neglect, negligence and ineptitude.

Is it so wrong to want to see the end of a 32 year drought?

We’ve been cursed though over the past two decades with awful decisions and we were a dreadfully run club.

I feel our loyal match going fans are more than patient for staying loyal through some of the crap they have had to endure.

In my opinion it should all be about progress, last year we finished 13th on 48 points and our squad included multiple bang average aging players on extremely high salaries.
If we finish this season top half (even though it might be 9-10th and that doesn't get you anything), on something like 55-60 points, that's good enough for the moment, since we haven't finished top half since COVID and Ancelotti. And a lot of the deadwood is gone and has been replaced with players with actual resell values that won't run down their contract like DCL, Doucouré etc.
