Pete, either Boris ignored the advice from his legal experts or he doesn’t know the law passed by his own government. It’s one of the two!
What will it take for you to understand he lies pretty much every time he opens his mouth?
You absolve him of any blame, no matter what he says or does, but when I posted the update I fully expected this sort of response.....
I find it astonishing that you can say this considering you repeatedly defend the Tories to the hilt. P&O took advantage directly from a recent policy change made by the Tories. This hasn’t happened by accident.I don’t know mate, he suggested fines would be going their way, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Meanwhile 800 people, who may be bought off, have to find another job, and it’s a disgrace…..
I see the boss of P&O has now admitted that they broke the law, they knew what they were supposed to do but ‘chose not to do so’
Is this the point where all those of you who insisted Boris was telling lies, now apologise and admit you were wrong, and I get to put in a laughing emoji…
State of this ignorance…..
BBC….
P&O Ferries boss Peter Hebblethwaite has admitted to MPs that a decision to sack 800 workers last week without consulting the unions broke the law.
He said there was "absolutely no doubt" that under UK employment law the firm was required to consult unions before making the mass cuts.”
Poor old @peteblue. Scrambling for the high ground again. The points being made were that Boris didn’t know what the bill his government drew and passed contained. The fact that the P&O Boss didn’t consult with the Unions is irrelevant to the point you make. You had to do that under previous employment law. I would have thought you would have known that. Still, the Boss of P&O has put you right now.Erm…….
“Bonfire of Red tape”.Just went too early. Embarrassing for Boris really. Post Brexit Britain.A firm that I would now gladly boycott.
Disgraceful way to treat your workforce.
A clear case of unacceptable Capitalism.
No excuses!

It’s just bizarre.

I wasn’t wrong. You need to read the thread properly. I know you’re all excited because the law has been broken, as usual, you try to change the discussion mid thread.Scrambling for nothing. Pity you can’t admit you were wrong….but hey ho…..
Then why were no French workers sacked? Why only Brits?P&O broke the law…they have admitted it…..
Then why were no French workers sacked? Why only Brits?
Well, Peter Chalk (The Solicitor General), when asked today what legal action the government will take, replied, "What we're going to do is take every step within the law, but she will understand that requires an important liason with the Insolvency Service to ensure what the position is."Erm…….
