One terribly fake account on Twitter comes up with bullsh*t, everyone and their pony completely buys into said bullsh*t and we have a 15 page thread on GOT about it. Trolling job done.

ANYTHING and EVERYTHING from Twitter should be treated with absolute disdain. NOBODY had any ITK info about Rodwell, the media picked it up first, and that's going to be the case from here on in.

So can't everyone just settle the feck down and stop giving every single bloody thing attention it doesn't deserve? It's this kind of manure that makes GOT intolerable during the summer.

Thats not strictly true mate, because we heard it on Saturday afternoon in Malaga that Rodwell was going to City but thought it was nothing.

There were rumours circulating on twitter on Saturday before any media picked it up, I disregarded them at the time but that very evening Sky and The Mirror were on it and then on the sunday it was on the os he was sold, not everything is made up bollox.

Well said. Rodwell himself said the negotiations had been ongoing for a couple of weeks.. where were all these ITK's then?

"Rodwell to <Insert Club Here>" circulates around Twitter every two weeks during a transfer window.

It's all nonsense. I could write "Barkley to <Insert Club Here>" every four weeks all over Twitter using various newly generated accounts during every transfer window and when/if it finally comes off claim to be sourced up.

I'm pretty sure Baines leaving was "nailed on" according to Twitter? Fellaini to Chelsea was also a "dead cert"? Pfft..

Everton have dramatically tightened up their transfer policy in recent seasons. Ignore social media for football transfers - it'll preserve your sanity.
