Our Fans

The weekly ‘fans are crap’ thread is getting a bit tiresome now

I don’t think the players can hear anything being said during the games, especially if it’s one individual out of 52,000 people in a massive stadium

You’d need supersonic bat hearing to hear the abuse

They probably read all the abuse they get after the game on social media platforms but during the game they are probably oblivious to any actual direct personal abuse aimed at them

After we scored yesterday the whole stadium was bouncing for the next 10 minutes

Give the fans a break

Take your pick.
"One of the fans who was there that day, Alan Hartley, recalls, "it was more a jostle and never a kick at our former manager"
Or.
Dick Fearon adds, "After just watching a hopeless Everton surrender without a fight to Blackpool, a small group of fans were gathered outside Bloomfield Rd players entrance. After such a absolutely horrible display, it was natural that we were not a happy bunch, especially as Alex Young had been dropped for that game.
It was a bitterly cold wet grey and windy day. The players hurried to the warmth of the team bus. We voiced our frustration at Harry Catterick and some jeered when he slipped on the wet pavement. A few of the fans helped him regain his feet and that was the sum total of it all... yet the myth was born and lingers to this day."

A bit like the modern day myth of a hoard of evertonians chasing Anthony Gordon across the pennines to Durham

It's never been any different in the 55 years I have been going to the match. You play good you get cheered. You play crap and you get stick. The 100 thousand pound a week wages and going back home to a mansion and swimming pool would provide a bit of comfort when they get some stick for being crap i would think.

Whilst I think we have to most amazing fans anywhere, travelling home and away . I just think that the way some fans think it’s ok to berate and slag our players off is diagusting . Last night the fans behind me constantly shouting obscenities at our own players , Myko , McNeil Barry etc . I wouldn’t want to perform getting all that abuse , yes the first two had shocking games , but they are the scapegoats now DCLhas moved on . I know everyone has the right to make their own choices . But come on blues let’s get behind the lads . If some one had said we’d be 3 pts behind them across the park after 24 games I’d be buzzing
Happens at every single club.

Arsenal fans literally booed their team when they're top of the league. Top of the champions league. One foot in the league cup final and thru in the fa cup. On for the quad, lost by 1 wonder goal in 5 and still booooooed.

Kopites booed the reigning champions.

The entitlement is rife across modern football, its not just us
