Other clubs summer transfers 2023

So few elite strikers this days, Haaland, Kane, Lewa (old now), Benzema (now in retirement), maybe Osimhen, thats pretty much it.

Anyway, Real gunning for Mbappe, either now or more likely next year on a free transfer with huge signing bonus

Surely Kane has to win something at Bayern. And if he somehow doesn't I've got to think he becomes one of the biggest losing players of all time.

Look what happened this season. They won the league and they weren't even trying. If Kane doesn't win anything with them I would be shocked.

You reckon when these big names are contacted by a Saudi side they have to quick Wikipedia them to see who they know that's gone to that one

I don't think they can because they can't get enough people to care. I mean with golf people are going to watch the Masters regardless of who plays and that holds with football. Not everyone will leave their club.

It will be interesting.

You are probably in a better position to say than me, as you are not in the UK, but I'm not as convinced as you that the international audience couldnt be drawn to an IPL esque competition in somewhere like Saudi, where all the biggest names go.

Its early days, but there is always potential. And if they want longevity, having an entire league, alongside a couple of PL teams maybe European teams makes a tonne of sense.

I think they're too late. The internet and expanded cable have been here for at least 20 years and the big clubs are too entrenched. IPL only works because India is the most cricket crazed country on Earth (or at worst #2). Saudi Arabia isn't that nor does it have the population that India has. I don't think it can go that way. They'll need Europe.

We will see. I think if big names go, eye balls will follow, and they could generate a genuinely quite competitive league.

It depends. Ronaldo was the second biggest name and I don't think eyeballs really followed. Benzema, Kante, Mahrez and others are big names as well. And yet I'm not sure who is actually watching them. I know I don't know anyone who cares. That's the big lesson from LIV imo. Mickelson might be old but he's still a top 5 guy along with Tiger, Rory and maybe Spieth. Not many eyeballs followed. I don't think they can completely break away and matter as much as they would folding into Europe's structure however that ends up looking.

Would not At all be angry at Edu and Co if they walked Away from Rice, £105m is more then enough.

I'm proud we've finally showed ambition in the transfer window for once.
