Just a wild guess but getting Griezmann off the payroll will have removed over 650k Euro a week from their payroll. Alba another 200k+ a week and I would take another wild guess that they may remove more money from their payroll by selling other players

Thanks for that, I am aware how sales work, but they have only just been able to register Gavi, a young kid already at the club, as recently as 2 weeks ago so they have some work to do to register any new signings on much higher wages.

So if you know how it works you should understand how they can register Gundogan. They have removed far more off their payroll than they needed to in order to register Gavi

I think they'll follow the golf blueprint. Big investment knowing they can't actually have a league that competes with the established ones. But it'll be scary enough that they can nab a seat at the table and that's the end goal all along.

This is just the start for them though IMO. I don't think it's a China situation.

I agree with you, but they could easily build a league to compete with pretty much any league.
