As for Pep, 9 times out of 10 he will take any midfielder and improve them in terms of getting the most out of their skill set. A big reason I suspect why Ilkay wants to play under Xavi too

And exactly why Kovacic will be great too, and will improve his output in term of numbers, as thats what Pep does.
