OSMAN IN THE ENGLAND SQUAD

Over the moon for Ossie - long been one of my favourite Everton players despite the stick he gets on here from time to time.

Selfishly though I hope he only gets a ten minute cameo and comes back fit to Goodison. We are in deep sh*t if he gets injured before Gibbos back. I'm actually pretty worried about all our internationals now for the same reason.

Really happy for ossie. Now all that's left is for arteta to get that spain cap, i know he doesn't play for us anymore but i love the man that much

So happy for him, he truly deserves a call up, I don't care about his age at least he got called up.

Credit to Roy for picking him!

I'm made up for him, i've always been a big Ossie supporter. Technically he is brilliant, and his work rate is flawless, I always just wanted him to get down the gym and bulk up a bit, make him harder to knock off the ball.

As others have said I don't expect this to be anything more than a token cap or two, but fair play to Hodgson for actually selecting players on current form.

This all round, nice to see.

The lad from Celtic had a blinder in goal last night too, bet he's chuffed.

He is bloody hard to knock off the ball. I defy anyone who to say otherwise. Obviously when competing for 50-50s he is forever at a disadvantage, but so long as that ball is at his feet and under his full control, he very rarely loses it. Seen him turn and skin Ruiz and Berbatov at the weekend like they weren't even there and they've got about a foot in height over him.
He's just class.

He'll end up playing on the right wing, get injured and before he returns his head will be turned be the United players in the squad.

No good can come of this.

And I don't care, I'm bringing it up again:

Osman's performance in that game against Fiorentina was the greatest all-round midfield display I've ever seen. He was just everywhere and everything. Cemented his position as a class player forever in my eyes on that night.

I agree with most of this.

If I had to bring up one problem with Osman it would be that I wish he would come towards the ball more often when its played to him. A lot of the time he waits for it to come to him and someone nips in to take possession.

But thats only a small issue.
