OSMAN IN THE ENGLAND SQUAD

And I don't care, I'm bringing it up again:

Osman's performance in that game against Fiorentina was the greatest all-round midfield display I've ever seen. He was just everywhere and everything. Cemented his position as a class player forever in my eyes on that night.

Spot on, always say that myself as well.

Fellaini against Utd came close but that night he was seriously unbelievable, just a shame we can't say it was a tie winning performance.

you need to watch more football

Should have got this cap years ago, he's as good as/better than some who have played in midfield for England in recent years.

I don't particularly see what he's done differently of late to earn it. Same old Ossie as far as I can see.

A bit of a bizarre call-up, this one. Guess it's because we're currently top 4.

IT's a weird squad though innit? Bertrand, Shawcross, Sterling, Shelvey, all kinds of oddities in there. Sure as hell Ossie deserves it though, i'm super happy for him.

Yes, but a squad with serious heavyweights such as Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand, Rooney & Gerrard have achieved the same at international level as a pipe of pringles.

The amount of weird, inexperienced players in it might also make up for the inclusion of Ossie in the lineup. Makes sense though, as Ossie is older than a lot of them and also has age-long buddies Baines and Jagielka behind him (hopefully). He really deserves to start anyway for the honor he's deserved. Plus, he's showed good form in the derby and generally stepping into CM when Gibson went.

Viewing it from an Everton perspective - yes fatigue and injury are a negative potential risk, but - there are potential positives to be had. If you remember, post-WC Germany 2006, Tim Cahill was nominated as one of the 50 players on the Ballon D'or list; never was he in with a chance of winning, of course, but I do recall it gave him a huge boost and he started the 07/08 season playing an absolute blinder, and who wouldn't, when being spoken of in the same regard as Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney, Pirlo, Scholes e.t.c?
Maybe Osman can benefit from it the same, and we might see a surge of confidence and belief that will enhance his performances even further.

Knowing us he will come on as a sub with 2 minutes to go on the right wing and do his cruciate in.

Can't understand the amount of stick Shelvey gets. To be fair to the lad, he looks like Gail Porter's inbred cousin but he's got all the makings of a top centre midfielder. There's not many English centre mids who have looked better from what I've seen this season.
