It’s fantastic. No party politics involved, just get help to people who need it. Massive contrast from the last administration, who wanted to withhold federal aid to California during the wildfires because “if they would have just raked their leaves, this wouldn’t have ever happened”.
You just know Trump would’ve been making a massive deal about it while helping literally no one and throwing everyone under the bus

If it were New York or California, for sure. Don’t know if he would have handled a disaster in a massive red state like that. That’s why the current administration’s handling of this is so refreshing. No talk of red state/blue state. Just do the best they can to help people in desperate need.
I saw an absurd post on Twitter not long ago basically saying Californians who move to Texas should vote like Texans (in other words vote red)

That sort of mindset isn’t uncommon. As Nashville has grown over the past couple decades the demographics have inevitably started to skew younger and more educated, which generally also means more Democratic. I’ve heard plenty of people bemoan outsiders bringing their liberal politics here and wish they would stay away, while making no mention of the economic benefits of having the biggest (non-Texas) city in the south right here in our state.
