I appreciated his leadership and his work rate in the first few years of his Everton.

The fact is he's not been good enough for our first team for a while now.

His quality through ball to Callum McManaman and comment on top 10 being an achievement somewhat distanced him from the fans. And considering he hasn't been started since it's clear that was the beginning of the end. It's quite sad it had to end like that, but like I said he quite simply isn't good enough for our first team anymore so it's most certainly the right move for both parties.

All negativity aside I wish him well for future.

Great work by the way whoever put "fitzy loves pip" as a tag, made me chuckle! I do now he has blessed us with this decision!!!

Great captain, and people forget in his first few seasons when he didn't play, we really missed him. Probably should have left at the end of last season, but people shouldn't jump on him for his limitations as a player. He always gave 100%, never shirked, stood up to be counted. If all our players had his attitude then maybe we wouldn't have lost so many soft points this season.

Good luck to him

Hopefully his next (and Last) appearance in a blue shirt will be our final home game (as a sub)

I'm really not sure how Neville could be considered even a passable leader or captain.

I don't even want him back as a coach. His approach to the game - and by that I mean actually playing football, not going to bed early - is abysmal.

Tackles on Ronaldo, Cashley. Penalties in Cup shoot outs. Goal vs West Brom. Many other moments. Pleased he has made a decision that is right for him and the Club. Has been an integral part of Everton recovering from the "dark days" and has represented the Club as a real pro should. I would prefer to remember him for the good days and times and allow him to depart with our respect, thanks and best wishes

you're a sad, angry man.

Not one single person here, even those who like him most, have suggested he shouldn't leave.
It's almost universally recognized that it's the right action for both parties.

Yes you're entitled to your opinion, one which is in line with the majority in this instance--- But the way you're putting them across, neglecting the positive attributes of a decent captain and a good man for the club you love, reflects terribly on you.
shameful.

Excellent response to a fool.

3 times LMA manager of the year disagrees with you.

....I've continually praised Neville on these pages and pay a personal tribute to him after today's announcement. I for one have been happy to see his name on the team sheet and thank him for his contribution over the years.
