In all honesty though pete I work in a university.

For domestic students we charge 3,000 grand a year and get a subsidy from the government to cover the rest.

For Foreign no eu studnets we charge the students 4 times that.

For Foreign eu students we charge the students 4 times and get a subsidy twice what we get from the uk government.

We make a loss on every domestic student and fund that by teaching foreign students.

If we leave the eu, we'd lose 35% of our funding. Which means we'd need to vastly cut our resources.

And we're the best scientific university in the EU by the grades. We cut our funding for chemistry and biology and physics and we'd lose brain power to the rest of the eu.

Its not just in academia that a brain drain will happen either!

Particuarly in technical or legal and possibly some major financial services will go to Ireland. I know this as we're planning to do it potentially.

No you wouldn't. What you are actually doing is developing brainpower for the benefit of everyone else. British universities were put in place to educate and develop Britons and influence thinkers from around the world. They were not meant to be a form of industry selling a product (education) to allow everyone else to overtake us. If funding is cut then we cut back our education for the benefit of the UK........

Hahaha....no he didn't. We are only a small country, but we are still the 5th largest economy on the planet in our own right. We are also the most strategic partner of the USA with the 4th/5th largest military budget. No one, not even the mighty USA will push us to the back of any queue..........

I can confirm what Obama is saying. Trade wise. Ireland will be ahead of us in terms of the USA.

They will. Pete can deny it all he wants but this is a fact.

We are predominantly a 'service based economy' much of UK's exports to USA are service based. Value added services.

That will go to Ireland in the event of Brexit.

Back on subject, I think he has done a few good things with the like of Obamacare etc. You can see how he's tried to socialise the USA and that is good. Internationally he has been an absolute failure and has diminished the stature and influence of the USA........
