i'm not that into politics but it seems pretty simple to me, prioritize trade with continental europe or prioritize trade with the British isles? Of course you'd pick the bigger market. Also doesn't seem to be saying the US would never deal with the UK just it wouldnt be first priority

The lies I keep coming from Brexit are ridiculous.

They via Michael Gove claimed the other day that not being in the EU will 'release us from regulations'

Without telling people that many of these regulations are there to protect people's health and/or prevent crime.

They also don't tell you in order to do trade within/with the EU you need to apply these regulations. This includes Switzerland, Norway and the other EEA members. So in reality there will be no regulation removal (unless its legitimate and safe) if you want to do trade with EU.

It was a blatant lie from Brexit exaggerating the 'benefits' and not telling the truth about how in fact many of these EU laws are applied in other areas like ASEAN or China and/or harmonised at international level to facilitate trade.

'Project-mislead' is far worse than 'Project-fear'

Brexit is mainly being led by Southen Polticians more interested in the south of England and their banking friends. Not the north of England, Wales or Scotland.

Therefore I'm definitively anti Brexit.

More should be spent on infrastructure outside London. The North West will only get more neglected if the Brexit lot get their way.

This trade with Europe of which you speak. Our GDP consists of 79% internal UK business and 21% external trade, of which 11% is with the row and 10% is with the EU. So for the sake of 10% of our GDP we put up with all of this crap from Europe, take in as many migrants as can arrive, stop doing business with our natural allies in AUS, Canada etc, take all our laws from Judges from Eastern Europe and still send £350,000,000 each week to Brussels. Not the greatest of deals tbh......

So roughly 50% of our external trade is with the EU.

Nice one. Well done for pointing that out.

Its nothing to do with who it was. It's all part of the do the UK down. Even now he's saying "stay in the EU or we won't do a trade deal with you". He is not a friend of the UK in any way shape or form. Boris has him weighed up........

He's made five visits to the United Kingdom - the joint second most throughout his presidency, whilst David Cameron has been hosted by Obama six times - last I looked.

Besides, not that he has in any way but I would say that trying to cut off ties to the United Kingdom is actually a wise move.

He's just talking reality.

The Yanks don't want 28 different set of rules and regulations to do trade with Europe.

All the rules and regulations governing trade are international anyway. It therefore doesn't matter to the USA if we are in or out of the EU whether they trade with us or not. The USA and the EU trade with all the other countries in the world who are outside the USA and the EU. It's a red herring the same as all the other scare stories put out by the must remain in side.

Personally, I would be glad not to allow him in the country again. In the UK he has the strongest ally in the world, but he has repeatedly done us down. If he wants to take the USA away from the UK then good luck with that, I'm sure China and Russia would soon be knocking on the door of 10 Downing ST...........

Actually my friend. Much of our exported services to facilitate trade of the USA with EU comes through UK.

That will go if there is Brexit for legal reasons. Much of it will go to Ireland.

I can tell you this for a fact.

Also the trade regulations of relevance are EU. One set of rules for the common market.

That's the way, treat your friends like crap..........

Could a Brexiter point out one reputable independent study that thinks that the UK would be better off if we left Europe?

I've already got contingency plans to open offices in Ireland in the event of a Brexit. Many other companies I know of have similar contingency plans.

The ones talking about ROW trade don't understand what that actually comes from.

It will cause severe economic damage to the UK. Jobs will move to Ireland.
