How high profile would he be if he remains sitting on the United bench and playing second fiddle to RVP and even Danny Welbeck? Less high profile than if he was banging them in for Everton, imo.
He'd still be England's number one striker, although he really needs to be playing in the year leading up to the world cup 2014.
At the moment, it looks like the two main candidates to sign Rooney are PSG and Chelsea. The French government are trying to make people earning over 1million euros in France pay 75% tax. Will United want to sell Rooney to a club like Chelsea that will be competing with them for the league?

He would have to hand a transfer request in, he would have to refuse contracts from other clubs who will pay more then us, he will lose sponsor money, his fee will cost us around 25 million, and his agent is still STREFORD who blames Evertonains for causing his illness years ago. Plus the fact he didn't want to play for us when he was a kid. He also come across as a tit, sulking on the team bus when celebrating the Title, refuse to play in Fergie last home game. He seems to have lost the edge right now. Too complicated for this deal to go through for us.
