Not A Transfer Rumour..... Wayne Rooney

No, but that's another reason why he wouldn't want to go there, he'd have to deal with a load of long haired ponces trying it on with his bird all the time.

Is this the one mate ?

The ones that Rooney would consider aren't interested in him (Barca, Real Madrid), and many of the other ones you mention would be less attractive to Rooney than Everton. It all amounts to the same thing, quite a small pool of real potential options for Wayne Rooney. It's only my opinion but that's what a forum is for.

His eldest child is probably about to start school soon. I'm obviously not Wayne Rooney, but if I was, there is no way I'd be putting him in a class full of crazed eye-ties when I could have him going to some posh effort in Cheshire. Especially when he would eventually have to return back to the UK in a few years anyway.

I can't see him wanting to move abroad.

Fair enough, I don't know if he would or wouldn't move overseas, financially it would be a decent move for him. But then again Man City would be a far better one! It's up to him if he needs the money or not though.

You can't be serious. You really think Fellaini is worth as much as wayne rooney?

You don't??

Fellaini is younger. He's also a kind of one off, there is not many/if any players like fellaini about. He offers things that most midfielders do not. He's very marketable also, and is already turning into a very big name. Can be dominant as a DM CM and ACM.

Rooney's best years were 20-25 yrs. he's not gonna get better now, although still a world class player now. 2yrs left on contract and already handed a transfer request in. Next summer worth even less, free the following season.

Utd could go out and sign at least 3/4 different top striking options who want to be at the club, who arguably are only going to get better! Rooney's worth to utd is a lot less than you prob think. His price would also differ considerably dependent on who the buyer was.

If Rooney is intent on leaving there it's a buyers market for him. Utd will look to make the best out of the situation, which will not nessesarialy be about transfer fee.

not saying I can see Rooney coming back to us but there is a point here that agents just blindly assume, 'more money, bigger team, bigger profile'. Doesn't always work like that, LFC got a few examples of people who found they were not better off hanging round at a high profile club without getting a game. I have no idea what Rooney's endorsements mean to him compared to his wages but the man utd wages may not be available in a couple of years so the big point does seem to be staying in the public eye as a world beater. He might not even be England's first choice by time the world cup comes round and its his last chance to shine. Where would you go now if you were him and guarantee you are going to Brazil full of confidence? Maybe its all irrelevant because the people advising can't see beyond one more big payday for them.

Think Fellaini is very overrated by the majority of our fan base tbh. Great player, but overrated. I reckon we'll get £25m max for him

Zero chance of fellaini being worth more than Rooney, take them blue tinted goggles off !

How much would you say Rooney would go for mate?

Were gonna get at least 24 mil for him with that being apparently his release clause and i believe Rooney is would cost around the same. He's not getting any younger, hes second best now and he wants to leave. Bear in mind next season his price will drop further due to one year on his contract and the following year he will be on a free. So with his price rapidly decreasing you could see them shifting him for about 25 IMO. While Felli is what, 2 years younger than him? Still under i think 4 years of a contract, versitle, built strongly and is strong both on and off the ball with a little flair thrown in for good measure. Before making assumptions of me overating him, i wouldn't mind if he left because the money we would get for him would really help us as we have a small squad and a few players (Maybe a box to box midfielder in his place for 10 mil, a striker for 10 mil and another 1 or two players with the 4 mil left.) is essential this summer.

The more I think about it, the more I think we should try and make a deal happen. Could only work if he wanted it to but if I was in his position, where money was never going to be an object for the rest of my life I think I might settle for a 5 million a year contract to be at the club I support. With a lot of our big earners like Neville, moyes, fellaini, heitinga (assuming they leave) off the books, plus the tv money on its way I think we could afford it. And, lets face it, he's exactly the kind of player we need!

The problem is just getting Rooney in isn't enough. If we did say a swap for fellaini (no money changing hands) then we'd still need to sign as a minimum.....

Back up Gk - could hopefully find someone in the free market.
CB - To replace Heitinga. Which tbf his fee should enable that.
A Box to box CM to replace fellaini, which is gonna cost between 5-10M (Fer)
Another winger - to free up mirallas, so he's not tied down to the RW.
And maybe 1 or 2 more squad players.

It's hard not knowing what financial possistion were now in with the increased TV money.

Most important to the whole thing is whether Rooney wants it or not. If he really does can see it happening, if he's not bothered and not got the massive desire to come home it certainly won't happen!

Back up GK - What's wrong with Mucha? Has he gone?
CB to replace Johnny - Shane Duffy anyone?
Another winger - Oviedo?

Agreed on the Box to box mid though
