I’m vegetarian and always feed the grandkids Quorn nuggets but tell them they are chicken, they’ve never sussed that they’re not actually eating meat.

Chicken would have been better.....

Not for the chickens.

Point taken and put like that Quorn nuggets are not a healthy option however chicken nuggets are also highly processed as well. I am married to a carnivore and, unlike some veggies, have no objection to cooking and serving meat. I just prefer to feed the grandkids Quorn nuggets.

Doesn't mean they should be factory farmed like they are, in disgusting conditions.

I agree with you there. Around here lots of people keep hens and cockerels for their own use and in good conditions. Factory farming is disgusting but I fear is here to stay.....

I think that's when we'll make the biggest dent in the world's meat-eating habits, when the alternatives are significantly cheaper. But I suspect it's not just the cost for you atm if the prices are the same. Meat is delicious like, I do miss it sometimes. But giving it up or cutting back on it is just a really good thing to do for all sorts of reasons beyond price
Every day but the sacrifice is worth it.

At least until all our AB's are useless. Perhaps you need to have a word with your affable MP and try to get the Conservatives to support sustainable small farmers.

Most of my meat is seasoned to death and covered in sauce or gravy anyway, can't even tell the difference.

To really succeed, this stuff just needs to distance itself from the unfortunate association with sanctimonious salad sh*ggers who become pseudo-vegan for the soul purpose of being the center of attention during group meals out (assuming you can find an "acceptable" restaurant in the first place).
The weird thing is, many meat eaters are just as bad.."gotta be meat in every meal"... "real men eat meat"..."love the taste of blood.."

Same, I cook meat for my son and wife whenever they have it. It's my issue not theirs.
