I can't be arsed waiting for him to fire again now. I think we should give Kone the chance to bed himself in. Jelavic has had more than enough chance now.
Thought Jelavic was trying and some of his link up play as very good (one bit of great skill and control springs to mind). But again, no goals. I don't think being the lone striker in this system necessarily gives you tons of chances though, so if you're off form then you're not likely to be clinical enough to take the few you do get.
Kone really needs more of a chance. He did quite well yesterday but only got 20 minutes.
It was evident to see that Kone was the better option yesterday. Hopefully he his match fit soon as Jelavic is not and will never be up to the standard of the premier league.
Hopefully Hamburg get serious and act on their interest in him soon.
1 goal in his last 20 hours of Premier League football..... that is absolutely abysmal.
He can´t hack it in the premiership. Too slow and too soft.
Hope Martinez doesn't persist with Jelevic to long like Moyes did last season. Kone needs to start now and see if he can grab his chances, would sell him if we could find a buyer and get another striker in.
Gonna find a player I've never heard of that I'd rather have as our main striker.
Here we go. Nationalised Argentinian Slovakia international David Depetris. 86 in 135 for AS Trencin, now moved on to Turkey. 6"1, 24 years old and 18 minutes worth of video. Looks like he has nice feet, isn't really very good and can shoot wide from distance.
Some absolute bollocks being spouted here. He is clearly up to it because he proved that in his first season. You can't fluke what he did then.
