I think it's a few different things with him. As sheeds says he's got people in his ear. He hasn't had the full pre-season. Last years form was never going to be maintainable but we all know we imagine the best especially egotistical footballers, so he's lacking a bit of confidence.

I'd still have him as our main man next year.

yeah i'd like him to stay, i think he'll rediscover his touch again. Just wish players would get on with it instead of whinging.

he will rediscover his touch when Moyes leaves. Jela,Yakubu,Johnson and Beattie all came as proven goal scorers but Moyes tactics soon put an end to that.Hoofball did not suit these players.

EFC will avoid selling a player when his value is low relative to a dip in form, unless that player is a troublemaker/distraction. Neither Jelavic nor his agent will force a transfer when his demand is low relative to a dip in form. I also think we would have heard if there had been a falling out between Jelavic and the coaching staff. We usually get at least a hint of it (Beckford, Drenthe).

It makes sense that Jelavic wanted a pay raise when he was in high demand, and the media will build narratives out of those assumptions. But the player and agent alike know that he has to find that form again before they can leverage a pay raise or force a move to a different club at higher wages.

I guess you haven't seen us pay for a few seasons.

The thing with Jelavic is he has been getting the odd chance but snatching at it which is unlike him given the first 6 months of his Everton career and parts of the start of the season. For me it is not the tactics that is affecting but more confidence in front of goal.

lad, he can't control a ball. That's got eff all to do with confidence.
Hes caught the Moyes Bug.

To be fair, he has scored 7 league goals this season, most of them important i.e. Spurs, Sunderland, Southampton. It's not as many as we'd all like but he's still easily in with a shout of getting double figures this season.

If he is in anyway trying to engineer a move then F him, he is graced to play for our club especially when he is a striker who couldn't trap a bag of sand. Hard work or no hard work, I'd work hard for 1000's a week.

Yeh but, Jelavic.

His touch and confidence has deserted him this season. It happens to a lot of players.
Allied to that was an inflated expectation from the fans, not surprising after the way he finished last season.

He has scored eight goals this season, hopefully he might get one or even two more before the season end.I think that a reasonable expectation for him is about fifteen goals ,I think that most of the goals he scores are similar,he doesn't score all sorts of goals ,doesn't get to take the penalties and because of this will never build up a huge tally.
